Hahahaha, as a Secret History super fan who has never read most of the classics, I'm sorry people commented that to you. I'm amazed how many people miss the point of the book completely, while you actually felt it was made too clear. I also sort of understand why it might not work for everyone. I'm obsessed with Donna Tartt's writing; she just vibes with my generally melancholic, lonely, overthinking, dramatic vibes so the parts other people feel drag, to me just feed into everything I love. It's my favourite book, but I'm hardly going to come onto your channel and insult you if it isn't for you. You are highly intelligent and hilarious, even though some of our book tastes are very different. Keep on!

The way my heart was racing as the darkness took you in the end though!! LOL. I'm gonna try Pretty Girls. I've heard so many good things about it. I just need to muscle my way through the last 180 pages of Fourth Wing since I foolishly preordered the sequel when I was still hyped on the world building of the first half of the book, before the writing took a nosedive. I almost threw up in my mouth when the MC says "for the win." (cringe)

@rubity_ Жыл бұрын
Yes to everything you said about the Shades of Magic trilogy and especially ACOL! That's one of my favorite books and i wish it were a standalone bc Holland Vosijk deserves the world and all the love and beauty in it. But book 2 can really be so off putting and annoying that it's so unfair people might miss out on it bc of damn Lila Bard! i rated AGOS 2.5 just bc i think Kell and Lila are cute and tolerable only when they're together and there was that dance ball scene near the end or something that i found cute. But yeah, overall i don't think it’s a good trilogy it just has an amazing finale
@vivsglock Жыл бұрын
i dnfed shades of magic like two chapters into book 2 and thinking back on book 1 the plot was so easy to consume bc it was very generic and a little too obvious + the fight scene was like three pages 😭 the only thing that kept me intrigued was the 4 londons, but i just forgot about the series after a while and never finished :// it was definitely hyped up a lot though esp bc it was v. e. schwab’s “adult series” and i didn’t get that vibe at all when i was reading it like i was defo expecting something a lot darker so that’s on me
@mop7316 Жыл бұрын
