Probably the best educational video on anthuriums on KZbin. Thank you so much for all your time and energy you spent filming this. I will refer to this video so many times. I learnt so much the first time I watched it and repeated different sections so many times. Thankyou Alice, you are a good soul. Xx

watched your channel for a while and I just wanted to let you know, that, besides being informative, your tone is very welcoming. You never come off as the "I am the expert". It's more of a "this is what works for me". I just so happened to be questioning my own anthurium care, especially watering and humidity. This came up in my feed today and I'm thankful.

Sizing up to bigger pots was a great tip for me. I was told that sizing up the pot too much would stunt the plant's growth. I guess it depends on different species.

As per pests, I have a memory of bagging a plant with a pest strip for some period of time as they, give off a "clean, odorless vapor is evenly distributed throughout the enclosed treatment area". (you could use it for a temp green house :-) Subject change; I have an Anthurium hookeri I grew from berries, 20 yrs.+ old, out in the yard that I got at a Brom. Soc. party. I had forgotten it was an Anth. I hose off when I remember. It's root mass is 15" above the 8" pot it grew up in. Many healthy leaves and inflorescence growing in shade and direct sun. (five miles from the ocean in the Santa Monica area of Socal) I grow many exotics from Africa, Asia, S. Am. Carnivorous. etc. outdoors so after killing one of those red flower common types, I thought I'd study the subject and bought, a, veitchii (wide) starter. Thanks for all of the info (watched the whole vid)

If anyone is reading this, check out the anthurium video by grow proteas. Their anthuriums are MASSIVE (think 4’+ leaves) and they reveal a common plant tip that actually stunts anthurium leaves from sizing up. She mentions it for a second in this video but I don’t think anyone grasps how crucial it is.

Anthuriums will love my house then my house dips and rises constantly in spring and fall. It’s pretty consistent in summer and winter though. I repotted mine in more Tree Fern fiber and panicked because it stayed wet for so many days I was afraid of root rot, so I reported and added Molly’s Aroid Mix, a little Tree Fern and mixed in my Bonsai Jack Grit mix. Hopefully that is a good medium!Thank you so much for this video!

Hi, I’ve noticed on Instagram that some sellers place their Anthuriums inside plastic bins with the lids on, presumably to maintain high humidity. However, since there’s no airflow in that setup, I’m concerned about potential issues like fungus, increased chances of insect infestations, and problems with CO2 and oxygen circulation. Do you think this method is okay, or could it cause problems? Every time I see those videos, I can’t help but wonder.

Once an anthurium is established with lots of roots i have no issues, but Im really struggling with seedlings…I’ve killed three seedlings from Kartel daun and it hurts my heart. I know you’ve said before to keep them swampy buuuuut, the roots keep rotting on me. So maybe the substrate isn’t working for me? I typically use pon and now some of my seedlings are in tree fern and pon and that seems to work well…so any advice would be helpful!!!

Honestly, no drainage in glass vessels just seemed to make my plants grow slower. It's not one size fits all for sure. I bought a friedschthalii last August, put it in glass, and it still hasn't grown a leaf. I'm transitioning all of my glass vessel plants into drainage + glass vessel for a water table. My wendlingeri didn't grow a single leaf til I got it out of moss/glass vessel
