Here's the deal with "fast flowering" versions....... Because of the reduction in the amount of time in flowering, yield will be reduced and I will go out on a limb and say potency will be reduced as well.I look at this as premature harvesting,in a sense.

On my second grow with my UV lights and still undecided. My current grow ( my best yet) one of the plants responded well and has a bit more trichomes after a few days. The other plant did not take well to the light and all the sugar leaves turned brown at the tips within 2 days of only 15 mins a day of light, so I stopped the UV for the last week of this grow. Will def try again, maybe even just 10 mins to start for a few days.
@benjammin121217 күн бұрын
Hi, just curious as I've just purchased the Migro UVb set up, what height did you hang the light at? What was the strain of the plant that did not take well to it? And at what stage of flowering did you start using the UVB please, i've heard conflicting advise on when to start using it and whether its beneficial using it at all. Sorry for the questions , Jah Bless..

@benjammin1212 I think the chart recommended like 18 inches or more above the canopy & I only use it the last 2 weeks of flower. My blueberry didn't take to week but the Peyote zkittles did well.

I'm no botanist, but I play one on television. From what I understand respiration happens 24/7 - where the plant is utilizing the glucose it produced during photosynthesis to make stuff like leaves and flowers. So, when it goes dark, getting the temperature down quickly will slow the respiration until the sun rises. e.g. in trees, fall color benefits by cooler fall evenings - see anthocyanin.
@ScottyReal42017 күн бұрын
I'm on it! Thanks for the info. FYI I'm no botanist either :) I'm just a grower who's super interested and always learning. @@ScottyReal420 , Roger that. I got the information from a PBS gardening show - the analogy was a good day of photosynthesis is 5 steps forward, and a cool night would be 2 steps back, or a warm night, 3 steps back.

No worries. Many of us never missed a beat when we were stealth. There are home growers who grow vegetables indoors so there will always be a market for supplies. When you read the law and then read how the governor talks about it, she states that it will grow “our” cannabis industry. These law makers do not look at it as a free market for the citizen it’s theirs and they want full control, that’s who’s selling and even who’s buying. They had one period where the application period was open and so many people applied, only so many thousand were approved. When alcohol went legal how many application process periods were there before the market regulated? They say they do t want it to be taken over by big business however the process to to get approved still limits everyone. People with hundreds of dollars on tap and with equity are getting the dispensaries so how does that help the most affected neighborhoods of the drug laws? I’m from those neighborhoods and have a career in trying to exit before it kills me and have been growing for three years active LLC for seven and can’t get my application in. If you want to speed up your veg times add in those deeps and far reds. 2/3 deep reds far-reds and 1/3 warm/cool and watch. Raise your temps and your TH tho. 85-87 on the temps and 72-75 on the RH. Def do a high 70s and high 60s RH at night for differential. You’ll see much more explosive growth. You’ve gotta stay on the training heavily in order to keep them filling out lowers and sideways not just up but oh it’s def very doable. Cheat codes homie. Cheat codes. They were onto something with the all red veg lights. Definitely too excessive with no warm/cool in there but the reds in veg definitely speed things up. As an example of what not to use would be that Mint Green spectrum from Mammoth. That would be completely ridiculous. Might as well run HPS or Blurble Black Dog LEDs. No idea WTF Mammoth was doin with that. 🤣🤣😮

This isn't new, I've been doing this for the past 5 years working with a sour lowryder auto cultivar that is done in 62 days from seed by itself and I'm getting flowering times of 6-7 weeks when I cross it to photos, also with some Moroccan landraces like the Beldia, it's a 7 week photo sativa. The way I do it is cross a photo mom with auto reg male pollen, then I grow out the F1s. Which ever seeds flower on their own under 18/6 I remove since we don't want autos, we want FAST flowering plants when you switch to 12/12, I keep the plants that start showing sex a week or 2 after I flip to 12/12. You have to have a big pheno hunt to do this lol The end result is crossing the brothers and sisters that flower and finish faster than the others, by F4 or F5 you should have it locked in or close where they all come out looking like clones!

Anyone falling for the it’s cutting 2 weeks off your flower time is fooling themselves or a Rosin head or feeding the clear rosin/wax mania that has taken over. There’s no way you cut your times you just get diff expressions. The tunable lighting shows crazy expressions you don’t get with HPS/CMH checkerboard either. The new UV light bars from spiders farmer definitely changed the game for me, they turned my plants into cannabis cup worthy , but you must be really careful on how much you give, I've learned my lesson and caused stress nanners on some genetics by giving 30 minutes intervals instead of two to three intervals at 15 minutes at a time. The lights from vivosun (adjustable full spectrum) has some uv & far red ,not quite enough , but on the app for the controller for lights has sunrise & sunset setting, which for beginning & end of day , the light mimic sunrise & sunset. I've had great success with these lights. Do Not buy the (non-adjustable) full spectrum lights that are little cheaper or you'll regret it. To sum up, Scotty is one of people I learned from and speaks true !

Scotty you make the show bro Happy new Year. I use the far reds last hour of light in 12/12. Sometimes the last 3 hours. More so at mid flower. I wish when they made these cheap but good add in lights they would make them with a mechanical switch because you use the built in timer but the time limit options are very limited. And you cant put them on a dial timer either because you have to push a button on the light cord to turn them on. If you let everyone buy and sell like at a farmers market it wouldnt be long unti big pharma loses all that precious money cause it would be in the peoples hands then and once that happens their days are numbered . There are alot of home growing going on. So lets wish upon a star and click our heals twice. It will happen how fast is anyone's guess. The problem is you wouldn't know what your buying from a place where nothing is tested . I bought cheese at a farmers market and then it hit me its not tested. God only know whats in it.

Searching for the kind bud in the lot at dead shows. Those were the days. It always found me (~);}!!! At the young age of 60. I still refer to it as the kind bud.

About the timer outlet thingies.. Get a decent digital one, its easier to get them to fire exactly when you want and can often be programmed with multiple presets so its a hold and press to switch the timer from veg to flower ♥
