Look, i would never deny that this dude has bars, but the "i dont have an identity" thing is actually a very specific culture. Commonly referred to as "counterculture" its really an oxymoron, and it used to be my gamertag so that should let you know who i am lol i was a punk kid who thought i was so special and unique because "i immediately disregard anything an authority says because i know everything." (even though ive never taken the time to learn even one thing) but one day i grew up. I looked around and realized there is a lireral industry for people like me. There are t shirt stores in every larger city in this country that cater specifically to the rebels who think we're so totally cutting-edge. Puttin it plain, there are things that are objective facts. Like comminism, it has a literal definition, and there are virtually no members of government, and literay none of the more powerful politicians that are really even close to comminist. This is a hypercapitalist society by definition. Words mean things, based on what communist means thats just a dumb line that isnt near a fact. Bottom line, first thing he says is "i am not republican, and the rest of the song is regurgitating mostly right-wing talking points that are objectively, *definitionally* false... ya. Youre a republican pretending the lack of maga hat means youre totally an enlightened centrist. Hes a great rapper, hes also never grown past the teenage mindset on government. Like most kids, he thinks he knows everything when hes never taken the time to actually commit to learning everything. You can literally always say "government bad, government lie" and be right, but break down his lyrics its literally just right wing propaganda 101. A lot of what he said was based in nuggets of truth, like most political opinions, but wrapped in a very clear narrative path. Most people whos entire identity is "i dont have an identity because im not a sheep like you," like my former self, actually have very obvious and frankly boringly common ideologies when they actually say what they believe. I get the sentiment, but its completely lacking in honest self reflection. We're all a product of our surroundings, and its almost impossible for you to have a single truly unique thought in your life. Also i recognize nobody asked for my opinion and most people who would click on a tom Macdonald video would disagree with it (because youre all so unique you have the exact same opinions 😂) but seriously, i just wanna share my perspective. Probably because i think im right like Tom does.

I'm not sure where you've lived in America, but the places I've lived, I've never locked my doors. I have a problem with losing my keys, so I don't lock the doors. Now, I've had 100+ lb dogs that aren't really inviting to strangers as well, but to this day, i don't know where my house key is. My husband does so we can lock up when we go on vacation and stuff, but every day, no, we don't lock our doors. Even when we lived in Kansas City, Mo, we didn't lock our doors. I totally didn't realize I was two years older than you.😊😊😊

While I agree with everything you said, I just feel like touching on the food subject for a minute. The food in our grocery stores is actually why I moved to acreage and started homesteading. My eggs come from my chickens. My vegetables come from my garden. I plan to start a small apple orchard so that my apples come from my tree’s. And for what we don’t make ourselves, we go to our local dairy where everything comes in fresh almost every day. It’s amazing how much clean food changes your life in a very positive way.

7:12 People seem to have a hard to conceptualizing someone that's in the middle. It seems like our portion at the tail end of being in the millennial generation (I'm like 3 years younger than you) was in this perfect zone to see the problems with both sides, and entrenched ourselves in the middle.
