Everyone keeps saying that Jere only started seeing Belly as more than just a friend when she got "pretty" last summer, and that Conrad has always seen her as more than that. However, there is a scene in season 1 where Conrad is talking to Cleveland about Belly and he says "We grew up together, so I've always thought of her as this little kid. But now she's not.". To me, it also shows that he only saw her as a friend until this summer. In addition, during the pool scene, when Belly asks Jeremiah why he never said anything about liking her, he says "There was always Conrad. Then, this summer, it was Cam. I guess I was just waiting.". It's implied that he always liked her, but everything gets kinda confusing after the flashback scene in season 2.

It's different in the books, but in the show, both guys fell in love with her the summer she turned pretty. Although both guys loved her growing they started feeling physically attracted that summer. Conrad no longer saw her as a kid (even tho he still was constantly telling her to grow up) and Jeremiah started loving her as more than a best friend. Also, Jeremiah says how it was instant when he saw her so I don't think his love for her has anything to do with jealousy towards Conrad since he came in later.

I don’t know because in the books we definitely saw Jere be jealous of Conrad. And in the books he gets extremely jealous when he sees Conrad looking at belly weirdly. So I think Jere’s feelings aren’t all rooted in jealous because I do think Jere genuinely likes Belly but he does have some resentment towards Conrad in the books.

So last season and the beginning of this season Jere was definitely crushing on Belly hard, but from the rnd of episode 4 until now Belly has flipped thr script which is cool to see. As far as the summer house stuff goes, I think it was mentioned early in Season 2 that the house technically belonged to both Susannah and Julia. It does suck that Susannah wasn't able to take care of the legal stuff before her passing, but plot 🤷‍♀

I would’ve prefer they didn’t have the back and forth between brothers & they picked someone else to be her interim love interest bc while he isn’t in any way my favorite this is setting Jeremiah up for failure. It’s never going to be him in the end. And her flirtation/feelings for him happening over the course of 7 days all interspersed with her yelling at both Conrad & Steven how desperately in love she had been shows that she’s mostly just using Jer for comfort & security. Conrad did think she was a kid until last summer but that doesn’t mean he didn’t like her or have complicated feelings for her he couldn’t really describe. He just wasn’t ready to act on them. That’s where the “I liked you better with glasses.” And “you have no idea the effect you have on ppl” came from. Her glow up or becoming pretty isn’t what made him like/notice her. Also in the book which I’m certain they’ll follow through on in the show. Conrad explained his feelings for belly like gradually waking up. It was this slow process of realization that he’d always loved. I think the show kind of implied it with the flashback to them at the fair. From belly’s perspective he took her to the fair game table to talk to another girl. In the book Conrad did want to spend time alone with Belly. He spent $40 to win her the bear bc he’d seen her staring at it and wanted to get it for her, that’s why he was upset she had left. Jer is such an unreliable narrator. He’s complaining Conrad treated prom like a hassle bc he wished belly chose him but Conrad was literally just depressed bc Susanna’s condition had gotten worse and it’s clear she’s dying so prom was not a priority when his mother is weeks from death.

the ones who read the book should understand that the show isn't the book exactly. According to the show, Conrad started seeing her as a possible love interest after she turned pretty too,people literally forget the scene with him and cleveland, where he says Belly was like a little sister to him until now, but with Jere it shows that in the scene of flashback on the tower of terror, he had some kinda feeling which he couldn't figure out until this summer. He literally held Belly's hand secretly. And he knew Belly had a crush on Conrad, that is why he says, he waited for her, in the pool scene

He literally was with his mom everyday see her slip away from life and even doing her taxes. But even in the midst of that he would be able to give belly a good time at the prom yk. Also Jenny changed it both Conrad and Jere didn’t fall in love with her until the summer she turned pretty. Conrad said last season he only really saw her as a younger sibling

It's not that Susannah left the house to Julia, the house was their father's. When he died half of the rights of were for each sister. Susannah used it while she was alive but it automatically belongs to Julia as it was in part her before and now fully her's
