The president does not set gas prices nor do they set prices for groceries. Trump plans to have higher tariffs on imported goods. Tons of our parts are made outside of the country. That means you and I will pay the increased prices.

@@williampisano7573 What you're failing to understand is the EPA is a federal agency. States can do what they want but if they favor policies that make their state uncompetitive that can only last for so long. The EPA has had favorable support in mandating EV adoption from the Biden administration but that will quickly change come Jan 2025. If you think China will import cheap EV's made with slave labor you're only fooling yourself. There will be a tariff placed on all imports making the cost competitive to those built in the US due to companies paying an actual living wage.

NHTSA is the other party that crafts CAFE standards. The head of that agency will be fired shortly as part of bringing realistic CAFE standards back into play. As stated many times, the standards are based on electrification which never worked because there is no grid to support it for the average person. Need ot see those tax credits eliminated for EV's and let all vehicles compete on actual cost, not subsidized cost. Still a place for EV's, just not mass adoption with current technology.

The states can still require emissions standards for autos sold and or register in their state. Six states including California has emission standards that have made it impossible for two of the largest chassis manufacturers of diesel motor homes to be sold and or registered in their state. The state regs are separate then the EPA regs.

according to trump, and I watched many of his rallies the last several months. He said unless the car is built in the USA then the tariff is going to make the car prohibited to be sold in the USA. So that would include Mexico China Egypt Canada Also they would get a 15% corporate tax break by building the plant in the USA. So a lot of changes coming and hopefully for the positive
