You've done the right thing. Concentrate on what is important, health, family, business. Perks will always come and go, that's the circle of life. I wish you would do more video's on the cars you fix for your customers because that shows the reality of a quality business like yours. Matt Armstrong channels are not reality, they are pure entertainment led for maximum revenue only.

Your videos deserve so many more views! After your DCT tear down video you are the only place I’m taking my as yet unbought R8. I wholeheartedly agree with this decision. I started following the channel for the top quality technical content, Ricky's knowledge and attention to detail. You peel back the mystique of supercars and it gave me a lot of confidence to embark on my R8 project. De clutter, reset, move forwards. You have enough going on with the new unit as well as all the ongoing jobs. If it helps you de-stress and focus on what you need to, it has to be the right decision.

When you work out how much your overheads are per square metre, per month, and you work out how much that relates to on the Skyline, Noble, Lambo, ZZ and Audi you'd cringe. The pile of engines and gearboxes need putting on pallets on racking off the floor, half your unit is taken up with dead paperweights.

For me all of your V10/DCT/Lambo V12 videos had me smashing buttons along with the RING/Spa content. I'm really into project builds and not once did I say I really need to watch the Skyline, 300ZX, or for that matter, the Noble episodes. An R8 V10 GT3/4 Monster that you build with guidance from Misha to continually improve your lap times at the RING that way your progress is measurable would be my 2 cents. All of the idle banter does yield a lot of automotive business insight if your tuned in and that most often leads me to watch a video in its entirety to be quite frank. Why Karl would leave such a cool shop and successful YT channel now is beyond me. There's so much content nowadays it's almost impossible to build what you've accomplished (odd time in human history that will never happen again was also fortuitous). Apocalyptia On Lads!
@caneyttАй бұрын
Great episode and as someone who owns his own business (carpets and flooring) consolidation is definitely a good way to go. The good stuff can come again😎Also for me as an owner of an AUDI TTRS 8s i much prefer watching you work on more affordable cars . Although my dream car is an R8!

Good luck to Karl, (I'll give you a follow) About selling all the projects, it definitely won't stop me watching your channel, I watch the channel because I like to see what your doing, if you done the projects I'd happily watch, but if you sell em and do something else I'll watch that instead. Resident NSX pedant reporting: 1997 was the switch from 3.0/5spd to 3.2/6spd (only applicable to manual transmission cars, autos still got the 3.0). There were not any major drivetrain changes accompanying the facelift in 2002, though they lost a little weight and the high speed aero was better. I couldn't tell from either video but if it's NOT a targa top, then it's pretty much a unicorn as a non-special-edition NA2 Coupe'. Either way respect for sending it. 🍻
@KarlTrevett01Ай бұрын
Yeh it’s a coupe 3.2 6 speed manual. Be interesting to know how many there were.
@LapoftheWorldАй бұрын
@@KarlTrevett01 I know there were only 20 delivered in the U.S. market out of ~9000 total NA1/NA2 cars (pretty well documented from Acura over here). If you extrapolate that to global production of ~18,000 cars, there are probably 50 or so, assuming the coupe' might've been a little more common outside the U.S. (Again, that's for non-S/R/Zanardi 3.2/6mt with no removable roof panel.)

The Noble was a long burn. Not Binky long burn, but aside from Jack Builds it, I haven't seen anyone with that much of a challenge on one. Ultimately, this is about the right financial decisions to support the business that might just have a happy coincidence of building the channel. I did wonder if there were too many threads.
