Right... A mate of mine asked me to help him build a Ford Focus and I told him I couldn't be bothered. He asked me why, right... My answer was that it was a Ford. I personally have a few select cars I'll work on. If it's a Mopar, happy days. Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mitsubishi, or Subaru I don't might lending a helping hand.

I have one just like it. I've had the coolant bottle and magrides. They put the strap on the coolant bottle, and THEN it leaked. The replacement bottle was cheap, but harder to put on than I thought - its really in a difficult place to reach despite looking easy. Didn't check the oil pipes or carbon yet but only 30k miles on it.

Could you swap an Audi v10 in a mclaren with this gearbox?

Yeah, I reckon that's properly grotesque. I've done my fair share of wrenching and the state of that engine... Oh my days mate.

Hey guys , could you not get the head aluminium welded and the seats re cut or the valve seats opened out and use bigger valves ? just seems a real shame to scrap a head that does look salvageable?
@icklepob8817 сағат бұрын
Was great to see you taking critics advice on board and using some power tools when stripping this engine, to save the customer £5 in labour on his scrap engine.

Gonna ask a silly question but is the plan to use both units as the old one seems bigger and would think that’s better
@REPerformanceUK15 сағат бұрын
It seems bigger because it’s empty now! Better set up over the new unit. The old unit will be used for storage and the dyno is still over there.

STOP BASHING THE TUNER WITHOUT PROPER INVESTIGATION!!!!! boys you can't blame the tuner without knowing the full story!!!! the tune could be perfect and the driver not-so. those drivers that don't understand every engine needs a cool down period after a hard time do damage like this-especially after a tune, for every minute of a hard time should be three minutes of cool down-that is why own tunes are so conservative blaming the tuner could have severe consequences on his or her career-his or her business, those accusations should be a last-last resort after a thorough investigation could be bad fuel, bad injector, excessive thrashing, excessive heat, no cool-down between runs, bad fuel pump..blaming someone's tune shouldn't be ever thrown out that easy online-the damage to one's reputation could very easily reach he's customers and eventually effect he's family that's relying on his or her income
@REPerformanceUK16 сағат бұрын
I purposefully haven’t mentioned the tuner or the engine builder because I don’t know the facts! But certain things are obvious to see!

No1 ceramic may have broke when you dropped the plug socket and trapped that nut against it.. lots of fake NGK plugs about that drop internal ceramics like no2 has.
@REPerformanceUK16 сағат бұрын
Yeah I did think that! I don’t think I used enough force to break the plug trying to get my socket in but doesn’t mean someone else didn’t try!!

Shame you didn’t have the injectors to look at - we have so many customers reluctant to install new injectors on a freshly built engine, it’s just unfathomably silly not to! and I do appreciate they’re expensive. Even sending them away for “testing and servicing” they’re operating at 200+ bar and the best testing machines produce around 10bar maximum. Definitely another GDI death this though! Concerning two cylinders have excessive oil however.. If you’re building a fresh engine, shooting for big power - invest in brand new injectors. Get everything on as level playing field as you can! Drop liners and stock head bolts?! In good hands now though!

So what your saying is tune an rs3 engine to the moon don’t look after it run it on shit fuel and change the oil every 15 thousand and it’ll last for years 😂 . If you can’t afford it don’t run them that’s why I’m poor and run run a standard jcw as if this thing happen to me I’d be broke and wouldn’t have a car , I’ve watched your channel since the start and this is one off the best 👍 great work
