Franchise has been my only game mode for years. I submitted a blog to SDS about franchise improvements, from somehow who plays more franchise, all 162, than anyone else. The post had over 6500 views on SDS forums page, they locked the post.. they took 0 of my suggestions, nothing even close. It is extremely clear that franchise is NOT a priority to the studio, but yet it’s been a core mode for 20 years. Fantasy sports is extremely popular, that is basically what franchise mode is but yet they continue to neglect it. Every year it gets harder and harder to spend $70-$100 on a game that gets 0 significant improvements, improvements at all really.

As a franchise player I like these as quality of life improvements. But I feel let down. All of the things people have wanted for years aren't here. And I was hoping for at least being able to customize the draft class. I'm a franchise and offline DD guy

Just fix the progression/regression system we've been asking for years. There's no reason players should start to drastically fall off a cliff as soon as they hit 30. By age 35 former all star and MVP candidates are useless at about 70 OVR or less.

Yes! It's obnoxious that Degrom is like a 74 overall 2 seasons into my franchise. Same with Verlander and Scherzer. They lose like 15-20 attribute points during the first season and are useless after that

You know that in real life star players do tend to fall off a cliff, right? It usually happens a LITTLE later than 30 (in MLB) yes It’s not the aspect of them falling off a cliff that’s unrealistic It’s the timing is probably just a little bit too early Just saying

@@ifbfmto9338 Star players remain effective and serviceable into their mid 30s more often than not. There should definitely be age related stat drops but they are too drastic and unrealistic plus performance has no positive effect to help curb that. All they have to do is establish a tier system where progression and regression is directly related to performance. I have a save file on franchise mode as the Orioles where Adley and Gunnar start experiencing regression at freaking 28 years old regardless of how good the numbers they put up are. If real life was like how MLB the Show makes it seem then pitchers like Scherzer, and Verlander would have retired 5 years ago. Gerrit Cole just won a Cy young in his mid 30s. Goldschmidt just won an MVP in his mid 30s. I shouldn't see these players lose 10-15 OVR coming off that performance just because they're 1 year older. Don't get me started on David Ortiz who put up one of the greatest seasons of his career the very year he retired. Why is it taking San Diego Studios so many years to give franchise mode aficionados what they want. They treat the game like DD is the only thing that matters and there's an entire community of baseball fans that just want to play a simulator where they can be a GM/Owner. Not everybody is interested in grinding sweaty online ranked matches.

they should implement prospect stats and showcase results to scouting in addition to the rating ranges that scouts give prospects. in nba 2k there is the draft combine and prospect stats on the player card and in madden theres obviously the draft combine and pro day results. this would make scouting prospects so much more immersive instead of “let me hope my scout is right about this prospect”

Every time I switched to quick manage to finish a game it threw out all the stats and only counted the simmed stats. They need to fix that.

Just came upon your channel and liking your last few videos on MLB the show. I'm in a wheelchair but was a guy going in the draft for real back in 1982 before I broke my neck back in a car accident. I've always loved baseball and gaming in general. Here I am 58yrs old and still playing games.. lol I'm what they call a quadriplegic meaning my hands are messed up too. Still, I'm able to play with a few modifications to my controller that my Dad had created for me. It's mostly for the trigger buttons on my Xbox series X controller. Actually, it's the elite core controller. Anyway, I was playing the more arcady super mega baseball which was a little gem for those of us who only had the Xbox. When MLB the show hit the Xbox I was in heaven! It's crazy but I liked playing just the franchise mode. I just wanted to play with my Chicago Cubs so I started to play franchise mode. I made a few trades here and there and I can't say I followed the rules to the tee regarding the money.. I played 130 games last year and had to simulate the rest as March 19th is coming soon and they'll be taking MLB the show 23 off game pass. I wish they would have gone full next generation with the graphics this year. The one good thing, however, was the faces of the players definitely look better! A definite step in the right direction. The only thing that always screws me up is the season doesn't start until the end of March. If I start my franchise this year on the 19th, I'm stuck with that lineup, correct? What if the Cubs starting lineup is different than what I start with? I can't really load the new lineup into a season I've already started. Am I wrong about that? Keep up the great videos! Ps. I did win the world series and in franchise . Lol I realize I'm not utilizing all the different baseball modes but I just like playing myself with my team. I have played a few games online with a friend and that's pretty good also... Nick

I wish they would make franchise like they had it on ps3 where I could run my own promos like twin said I can do my own bubblehead giveaways or bats etc I use to love that and change the ticket prices that use to make the game fun and use to affect attendance

Why not just give the option to change the amount of season games? Most people want to play all their games, but almost nobody has the time to play 160+ games. I’ve timed multiple games, and if you quick pitch and cycle through the cut screens, it’s about 31-34 minutes per game. Even on a rather calm night in my house, I can only get 2-3 games done. Perhaps 4-5 on a real weekend binge. So, you’re looking at about 54 days complete ONE season. You HAVE to sim. Which sucks because the CPU does your team real dirty when you sim.

I noticed that they removed minor-league All-Star game for franchise and roll to the show player. They should definitely add that back to the game. It just takes away the realistic of major-league baseball that’s part of the game as well. I would like to know if they’re gonna add that on the next road to the show next year.

I still play 2K Baseball 11 on my 360, but looking into MLB The Show 24 for my XBox One. Been living in Sweden since 2011 and haven't found this game out here. I don't like digital downloads or rather trust them cause some companies can and have removed digital games from people's consoles. May have to order an actual CD game from the states. The game looks good. I use to play franchise with the top have of the division and sim the lower half if I was one of the top teams and visa verse if I was lower then play lower teams. During actual play I would sim until I bat or situational plays ocure.

Yes MVP 2005 and MLB the Show 06 had the best franchise mode. The only thing I got happy in that video that we can see the awards in you're baseball card.

I went back and watched some 06 franchise gameplay. When comparing it to todays franchise, the features are pretty identical with minor differences between the two. I can see it both ways. One could say we think so highly of 06 because we were young and grew up playing that, so it has that nostalgia. And that the new ones are technically the same or even better. But I more so think the opposite. 06 was 18 years ago and was revolutionary among sport franchise modes. They’ve had 18 years to build on that, to innovate, and they just haven’t done that. As will all sport games, the bulk of development is elsewhere

Haha. Right. I couldn't agree more. Never understood the desire to price hotdogs. All I want SDS to do, before everywhere new idea, is simply keep plugging away at graphics, gameplay and logic (gameplay, draft, trades, etc.) That is first and foremost.

IMPORTANT: It's incredible that they put awards in a player's card. How nice is it for we Franchise players to see that 99 rated shortstop with all his awards who is on an opposing team at the AA level because the roster logic is broken? We can also see the all the wonderful catches spread out through a teams organization with none on the MLB team. Because seeing awards is far more important than realistic play and fixing a terrible AI that has been broken for years. Now your high profile reliever can show off the rewards he won before 2024 as he is never used because he's in a bullpen spot that the AI doesn't use correctly. Spoiler: They only did it because it can be seen in DD, and DD players wanted it.

I dont understand the logic about jumping in at a certain inning etc.. How about setting it up like Madden does? You can set who wins the game in simulation. You choose home or away winner for any or all the games. How about 6 man rotations or Double Header options? These are the key realistic options that people want to see.
