Seems to me there is a trend between Sith Lords. Every single one of them is a genius in their own way of some specific craft. Tenebrous was a renowned spaceship engineer, Plagueis was one of the richest bankers in the galaxy, and Palpatine was a natural politician. I wonder if their positions were only obtained due to the dark side, or did they achieve them through their own merits and the force was just an extra tool. Would they have reached where they were now if they didn't have the force?

Jiren The Commenter I think they mostly reached their positions through skill and cunning. Plagueis was born into the wealth, though he too was a genius and a successful businessman who did alot to expand his riches. I suppose you could say he would have been wealthy even if he were born poor. So it truly was skill that got them to their positions. But indeed the darkside is a powerful tool.

I believe in most cases, they were naturally talented or they developed their talents through relentless effort. Take Tenebrous for example: iirc, Tenebrous was a genius even by Bith standards ever since he was young (Bith are one of the most intelligent species in the galaxy). So Tenebrous not only had the naturally high intellect of a Bith, but he was also a born genius of his species. He had a stupid amount of brain power right from the start, making him (arguably) the smartest Sith Lord of all time.

Wearing a shirt that says "The Force is female" and stating that she believes she has a "social obligation" because of her powerful position and platform tells you that her allegiance lies with her own misguided beliefs and not with Star Wars lore and fandom. Daniel Regan you should read the bane trilogy, there should still be the audiobooks uploaded onto KZbin if you’d prefer to listen than read, but you should totally read it, it’s really awesome. Like Star Wars explained put it once, the bane trilogy is like a breaking bad for Star Wars, you see bane start from nothing and become Darth bane and it’s just so cool, and really shows and dives into the dark side/Sith mentality

To be fair what Tenebrous did wasn't the same sort of essence transfer that Bane and Sidious mastered in legends. Essence transfer is essentially a form of soul exchange with the "winner" of the battle inside someones body being allowed to stay and the loser seeing their soul dragged off into the afterlife (in the case of a dark side user if they lose their soul ends up in the star wars version of hell (i.e. chaos)). What Tenebrous did was very similar to essence transfer in that he was able to put his soul inside another body but the difference was that he would be able to take over that person's body if he wanted to but he wasn't forced into taking over. Essentially he used the body to try and make his way time-wise to the point in time he believed that Plagueis would finally meet the chosen one with his plan being at that point his soul would jump out of Plagueis and into Anakin whom at the time would have been very young. However Tenebrous was depending on his own powerful foresight and his related intelligence being something that he could depend on to make this plan work. The thing was that his own version of essence transfer sort of came with a cost. He originally believed that the cost of his essence transfer was a weakening of his force sight so that he wouldn't be able to see as far ahead in the future as he used to see. However after his death he learned about the true cost of his essence transfer ability was that his force sight had been limited by the force into a continuous loop where he couldn't see past the shadow (i.e. plaguies's apprentice palpatine) in the timeline and that as a cost of his experimentation's the force would force him into endlessly reliving the moments of his death up to this discovery point. In addition his spirit had been imprisoned by the force in the area that he died so that's the loop could begin all over again. The Tenebrous Way is an interesting read I admit.

I prefer to think that every Sith Master going back to Darth Bane at least has transferred his consciousness into his apprentice when the apprentice killed him. I like to think that one secret that no master teaches his apprentice is that killing the master completes a ritual that allows the master to live on in a new host, with the degree of knowledge, power, and personality transferred being dependent on how fully the apprentice embraces the dark side while committing the murder. The point of apprenticeship is not to train the apprentice in any skills, but only to corrupt the new host enough that one's consciousness can be transferred with the highest fidelity.

So this is the technique Palpatine was trying to use to take Luke and then Rey's body. Seems you have to be saturated in the dark side first though? Maybe its a polarity thing, like the Schwartz.

I think Palpatine survived via the World between Worlds. He basically had his foot in the door when he attacked Ezra and Ahsoka. After they left he could have gone in while the doors were still open, found a portal at the point where he got thrown down the shaft and pulled his future self out of danger the gone back to his own point in the timeline. His future self could have then found a portal leading to decades in the future to take control of the First Order.

Hello! Great content as always. I have a question that I can't really find answers to. In Rogue One, we are introduced to Shoretroopers and Tanktroopers. While the function of the troopers themselves is pretty clear, I'm interested in their gear.
