Everything Right and Wrong With The Pikmin Series

Just a compilation of the ERAWW Pikmin series I made. In case any of you feel like binging this particular series.

For those wondering, if we add up all of the win and sin counters of each of these videos, that makes a grand total of 94 wins and 41 sins across the whole Pikmin series.

1:17:48-1:17:53 This reminds me of a scene from "How Mario Kart Wii Triggers You" by NB. He asked why there were four baby characters and hoped that the roster "didn't get worse." Then when MK8 Deluxe came in 2017, he saw Baby Rosalina, Gold Mario, and Pink Gold Peach. He said "Oh, oh noooo. NOOOO!" 😂😂😂

Pikmin is one of my many Nintendo franchises that I seriously need to get more into (other examples for me being Kirby, Metroid and Fire Emblem), so seeing it get a lot of attention this year than normal is very much well deserved.

so, recently i was able to get the switch ports of the first two pikmin games. as a kid, i had only played pikmin 2 (much later after release though), and had very fond memories of it, so i assumed id feel alright about the first entry, while excited to go into the second. Hell, some of what pikmin 2 did lead into things about 4 that i absolutely loved...boy i was wrong pikmin 1 is fantastic, even if a little short. pikmin 2 was a genuine chore, to the point where i questioned how i beat that game at like 9 or 10. There were several moments in the game where i rolled my eyes, or just wanted to play 4 again. But even then, it's still a pikmin game, so i won't lie, i had fun with it like i did all of the entries, minus the glorified step tracker that is pikmin bloom. It genuinely baffles me because while i now realize that 2 is probably the worst entry, pikmin 4 is my personal favorite in the series

So after playing pikmin 4 again, i actually found out something interesting about the playroom In the background of it, you can see a railing leading downstairs. We aren't in any playroom, we're in the second floor of the 4th area. Now, we dont get an explanation as to HOW we're there, but it does give us a slight explanation of "why is there light in a cave?" For that specific room. We're in a child's playroom in a house, not some random cave

@@tonysonic456 idk, I just thought it was a cute detail because in the 4th level, we can't go to the second floor but we do know it exists. I'm just surprised it took me this long to look into the distance Admittedly that's the least of the caves "logical issues". Id much rather believe the caves send us through cartoonish sewer pipes that lead us to specific parts of the planet, than going underground magically slowing down time

I understand why you have a beef with the lack of a time limit in the other Pikmin games and the only reason I disagree is that I have personal reasons for not liking the 30 day time limit in the original Pikmin (My time anxiety forced me to only play the game in small chunks to prevent it from overwhelming me and causing an anxiety attack) and could only enjoy the series when the 30 day time limit was removed as the day system (for some odd reason) doesn't trigger my time anxiety as much as the 30 day time limit did.

since it likely wasn't mentioned in pikmin 3 you actually have easier time with the shaggy long legs than you do in pikmin 1 and 2 because even tho for most of the game the rocks don't latch on to enemies for the shaggy long legs they do and it is the only enemy they do this with.

because of the crushing immunity, the Shaggy Long Legs battle becomes a complete joke as when against this one boss and only that boss, Rock Pikmin can actually latch onto it rather than just plink right off

i will add something that is easily missable, is in pikmin 3, we get a sort of hint that the pilots aren't at fault for crashing, and suggests that there is "some unknown force" causing the crashes

@@tonysonic456 okay i can't tell if i just can't send links in comments, or if my computer is messing up, but if you check a video on gamexplain about the endings of pikmin 3, the best ending has the narrator end the dialouge relating to "what caused the accident that sent the captains onto PNF 404" with "perhaps it wasn't an accident after all..."

@@burbusburbus8782 I actually saw that ending when I completed Pikmin 3. Thing is, I had no idea what that meant. The best I could think of is that they were trying to build intrigue and mystery where it doesn’t exist.
