Wow, I had no idea 5 day Pikmin 2 had been done! I knew it was possible in theory but only knew of TRR’s unfinished TAS. Strongman is a certified BADASS and should have 1000 subscribers!!! (Wtf…) This is even harder than doing a 6 day run of Pikmin 1 in my opinion. Is he the first? Hey, you didn’t mention this was a 101-Pikmin run!!! Added layer of difficulty. I assume charge carrying is used on the wistful wild pinecone and perplexing pool battery because it’s actually more efficient than raising enough yellows to break the gates down? WILD I feel for strongman. He did the thing, and this video explained the thing, but the view counts always skew too heavily towards the explainers. As a doer myself, I know that the doing is so important that the explaining is often left to others who get disproportionally more credit. (Not mad at anyone, just wish this wasn’t how things worked).

Not sure if this is mentioned in the video, but it isnt JUST a 5 day run, it's also 101 Pikmin no death, which is the minimum you can possibly have! You need to do specific glitches when unlocking yellows and blues to go beyond 102 or 103, so extinction doesn't happen when you run out of them.

This is a very interesting video, but I think you missed a very important point in my opinion : Strongmanlin tried to finish 100% in 5 days... with ONLY 101 pikmins! Actually, Wistful Wild isn't the hardest, it is really easy (maybe the easiest) to do in 1 day during a 7 or a 6 day run, because you've done many pikmins during other areas. Here, the whole challenge is to do it with nearly no blue pikmins to remove water, or yellow pikmins to break electric gates. Though, I'm still not sure if he had time to do some pikmins during the other days, but it seems he could have done it during day 1, making everything after easier. But I may be wrong. The beginning of the run is insane, but the end should be "trivial" as it is the same route as a 6-day or 7-day challenge. It just shows how Strongmanlin is on another level than expected, he did a harder run than a 5-day run. It should have been neat to point it out. :)

18:10 the reason napsacking teleports olimar to the blue onion is because napsacked captains are considered treasures by the game and not captains! if a captain falls oob in pikmin 2, they are teleported to (0, 0) on the map, which for the awakening woods is right next to the ship. when a treasure (or napsacked captain in this case) falls oob, however, it is teleported to the nearest carry waypoint, which happens to be right next to the blue onion!

It's possible to complete the Wistful Wild in a single day without any glitches. I actually managed to do it myself. Granted, I had a lot more pikmin than I probably would have been able to get in an actual 5-day run, but still...

i was also wondering why all the extra glitches were necessary in wistful wilds, and it turns out that this was a minimum pikmin run (only 101) with no deaths. it wasn't mentioned in this video, but that's probably the reason

I was a little confused by some of the choices in this run. For example, it is known that Valley of Repose is possible in three days in an ordinary run (ie no major glitches), so I think you wouldn’t *need* to break down the barrier on day 1. Likewise, Wistful Wild can be done in a single day without glitches. Then I realised, this was a 101 pikmin run, meaning Strongman Lin had no choice but to do these glitches. Which just makes this feat insanely more impressive.

I believe breaking down the wall in the water on day 1 isn't technically necessary, as you can complete Awakening Wood in 1 day still without the Rush Boots, and you go back to valley of repose before Perplexing Pool, although I imagine it does make the following days easier (and it's one hell of a flex too, goddamn). Another interesting challenge run that's possible in all the games (although maybe not as challenging in 4 because of Oatchi) is Onionless, where you're never allowed to take Pikmin out of Onions (or the ship in 2) the entire game

Every time I see people attempt this, it's always terribly wasted. Everyone could have gotten a way better run, but they CLEARLY keep forgetting about the best glitch in Pikmin 2, " fiddlebert's fiddle resurrection." This would have unlocked fiddlebert and his fiddlebert blast, perhaps even unlocking the ELUSIVE RACIST EDITION if done right. This could have made this entire run MONSTEROUSLY easier. A shame. Truly, a shame.

I have tried to play through the games without losing any Pikmin and that was enough of a headache for me. I was able to do it on Pikmin 1 and 4. While the route is really cool, he definitely does more tricks than necesarry. Which is fine from a "show off cool stuff" perspective, just like, VoR being beaten in two days doesn't require spending 12 hours breaking down that wall.
