I grew stevia last summer. Your book wasn’t out yet so I winged it. My stevia was awful. After reading your book I know ALL the things I did wrong. I purchased 300 grams of stevia from a source in your book and made the stevia according to your instructions. It was great. I have made the yogurt as well as the sour dough starter. I was going to try this today after taking in-depth notes but I can’t afford to waste my Stevia if it’s going to be flat or go bad in the fridge after all this effort!! I cringed at the first rinse to get the metallic off, whatever that means, And then, when I saw it boiling, I cringed again, But I kept watching that this was a technique that had been developed and was sure to produce what we all want and that is nice tasting Stevia extract.. But I think it’s fair to ask for what was revealed in the email I know this thread is a year old, but since the video is still running, I am wondering what the solution is to the dilemma of two weeks in the fridge and the Stevia just taste like “nasty tea”… I’m so proud of my crop of Stevia this year and I sure don’t want to ruin it so I guess I’m not gonna try this method until I hear why it failed in the refrigerator…

I have made a few batches of this stevia and water extract. My 26-year-old son and I love it. After the first batch, I just threw out the stevia leaves for my chickens. The following 2 batches I decided to save the used leaves. I dried them in the oven and ground them into powder. I am going to use the stevia powder in my tooth powder that I make to sweeten it. I don't need much sweetness so this works beautifully!

I ordered dried stevia and a live plant from Richters here in Ontario and I am in the process of making a batch to try. I can see little stems and flower casings in the dry mix, so I figure it is from plants that have flowered already. boo. I am not anticipating bitterness but it will probably happen. I really do not like stevia in any form. If this is bitter I will wait until my stevia plant grows leaves and hopefully I can get a good enough harvest from it before it flowers to try this method. I will let you know how it goes. I also ordered one of your fiction books from Amazon for my daughter to read. Looking forward to read good clean fiction romance. 💕

Thank you, the information is very helpful. By the way, may I ask a few questions? My English is not very good, so I haven't fully understood some of the information. How many milliliters of water are there in 8 cups of water? (How many milliliters are in 1 cup?) After heating the water to 80°C, should the water be left to cool down before pouring it over the dried stevia leaves (including the steeping time), or should it be poured directly? I'm in Indonesia, where the normal temperature is 24-32°C. What is the room temperature for fermenting the stevia? Thanks
@EverythingHomemadewithRita
@EverythingHomemadewithRita Жыл бұрын
1 cup is 237 ml After the water is heated to 80 C pour it directly over the herbs fermenting temperature would be anything over 22 C. After this temp it's easy to ferment the stevia tea. So try to steep it in a cooler area, or just don't steep it as long if everywhere is hot. Steep it for a couple of hours instead of 24 hours and just do 4 soakings instead of 3 so you still get all the sweetness out but not fermenting it.

Hi do you have to use dried stevia? I have fresh leaves growing on 3 live plants in my yard and I don’t know how to dry them or is that even necessary?
@SherryC-vl8yj
@SherryC-vl8yj Ай бұрын
When the Stevia leaves are mature, pluck them off and dehydrate them. Don’t let the little flowers that are white begin to bloom because your plant will stop making leaves and it will start making seeds. Once you harvest, the mature leaves, your plant will put another flush of leaves out again for a second harvest! After the second harvest, you can let your plant go to seed in the fall, and save those seeds to replant more Stevia, It’s very frost sensitive, and it must be brought indoors to a sunny window to over Winter. Once it gets cold outside, the Stevia will start getting an ugly gray color and it’ll just die! So you should be able to get two great harvest off the plant and a batch of seeds. I just picked my Stevia today it’s July 10. I will check my plant again in one month. Now you dehydrate your Stevia! You can use a dehydrator between 98 and 100° or you can lay your Stevia on a beach towel outdoors and semi shade if it’s hot and dry where you live and they’ll be crispy dry and less than two days.. Clean window screen also, my husband stapled some window screen to long skinny wood frame and that’s my portable outdoor dryer to lay my herbs on when I want to do a lot of Herbs.. Keep them out of sun that makes their leaves burn and get ugly looking.. If the weather is bad, I just use my Excalibur dryer on the Herb setting, Good luck hope this helps🍀

I apologize for the delay. I did not realize until orders came in that GoDaddy had an internal glitch which caused me nothing but issues. That is why I switched to Wix and everything has been going so much smoother. So I realized from others that some order went through but the system did not create an invoice or a po for me so I had no idea an order went through until they contacted me or they thought they ordered and nothing actually went through. That's why I made a post on my website about it because I was trying to do my best. Long story short, with promise of their problem to be fixed they never did so I switch to a new platform, which as been the best thing I did. I was hope I got everyone and I apologize that I missed you. I went back in to my Stripe and I see an order. Same last name but different first name. I dont want to give out any sensitive info here so I dont have an email for you so please email me everything-homemade@hotmail.com Let's get this all straightened out. I again apologize.

I will have your book tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 3) around 5pm at Homesteader Health Gateway location next to the Walmart in Grande Prairie. Your name will be on it for pick up. Just go to the front desk and tell them you have pre-paid and give them your name.

Sterilize your jars, and make sure the stevia extract is very hot and your canner is hot. Place the extract in hot jars. Lid. Place in hot canner. Can for about 6 to 10 minutes take out nd let cool.
