Great vlog again. So proud of you Sonya you seem to be able to put your hand to anything and no doubt you wouldn't be able to manage without Tongs help. 😍

Hi Folks, before you go spending money on a new alternator, check the wiring that passes under the motor. I had same problem, changed out the alternator, and still had the problem. Turns out it was a wire to the sensor that had worn off its jacket and was intermittently shorting out. Best of luck. Freddie

Thanks Freddie, we will check that out it will certainly be good if thats all it turns out to be!

Top marks for your effort, Sonya. I do know with a car if you disconnect the battery and let it sit for a minute then reconnect it, it will stop the 'check engine' light from coming on. It many not work in your situation but it's worth a try. Take care you three ~ Lacy, Mike & Hamish PS. When building a narrowboat, who's bright idea was it to place the engine in a small hole in the bottom of the boat? Seems to us there must have been a better way.🤔

At this point we will try anything! Moving around the engine bay is so difficult and the thing you need to get to is always the most awkwardly placed! Thanks for the message you three, great to hear from you

I'm sure its the same on all similar boats as space is such a premium but it looks so hard to get to anything on your engine never mind fix it.

13990LI Sonya thinks, the old one didnt have a number on it.
@mariannegordon72374 ай бұрын
@@sameshipdifferentday2024 13 is the top width in mm. 990 is the length. Also known as an A section belt. And you could order as an AX39 which is the size in imperial (39 inches= 990) The ax means it has teeth or also known as cogged. Very standard belts in the trade.
