How do we express "everyone who.." or "everything that.." in Russian? (Hint: don't use который!) This video is an essential complement to our lesson on который.

I wonder if you'd comment on the different ways Russian expresses the preposition "for." A gift for mom, ready for the exam, pay for drinks - подарок для мамы, готовы к экзамену, платить за напитки. Thank you!

Here's a clip of the same song, performed in Kyiv about 13 years ago; they sing a verse in Ukrainian. Heartbreaking to watch it now... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHi7mYanhaukhac And you might like this interview with Юрий Шевчук on the Скажи Гордеевой channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWSxlKZmltOMeas

I've also seen plural verbs used after все in this case: все, кто понимаЮт по-русски; всем, кто едУт в Москву; etc. Is this also OK?

Great question. Wade's Comprehensive Russian Grammar says both singular and plural can heard after все, кто... and те, кто.... but it's the kind of question native speakers can ask and disagree about. A quick non-scientific google search shows more hits for singular verbs than plural, and a quick glance at ruscorpora.ru for examples with 'все, кто' suggests the singular is more common. Singular/plural verb agreement with quantity expressions can be a grey area in general in Russian... for an example of native speakers arguing about this see the comments at mel.fm/gramotnost/gramotny-otvet/1263704-vse-kto-lyubyat-ili-vse-kto-lyubit--kak-pravilno :)

Hallo, everything superb with your lessons, thanks! But how you think about- Каждый, кто понимает по-русский .... for me sounds more logical.

Interesting observation - both are fine, really. Каждый, кто = every/each (person) who.. Все, кто = Everyone who.. or All who... The meanings are quite close. And note that we use кто with каждый when there's no noun (like with все without a noun). Another common usage is тот, кто... = he who/one who...

Hello, I'm curious as to why there adjectives in forms such as хорошо, нормально, позитивно, etc. They don't fit into the -ий/-ая/-ое forms. Are they a special type of adjective?

In sentences like 'Всё нормально' or 'Было очень холодно' you're seeing neuter forms of short adjectives (краткие прилагательные) - it's very common to see them in the predicate (for example, after past or future of быть, or where 'to be' is implied in the present). There's an quick introduction to them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnKUoo1qqbqKf5Y
