I’ve known Grant for 20 years. Wicked smart guy. Funny as all get out, and just a good guy. He is a true professional in his work and an asset to the Vikings Organization and the NFL.

Vikings purple just pops with the green of the field. The field always looks spectacular. Great work guys.

Always like the behind the scenes stuff. It’s the small things that are under appreciated
@MattChinanderАй бұрын
Today I learned they spray green paint into the negative areas, rather than not painting them white. Makes sense! (ex: the wording at the back of the end zone)
@jpjh8844Ай бұрын
Love how he says there has to be a buffer in the end zone for the paint, then they show the US Bank End Zone and it has no buffer between the purple and the white.
@TheMarcusramseyАй бұрын
I'm convinced he was thinking that "of course they have to be different colors" and not the whole buffer bit. There's just no way he would say you have to have it then they don't.

Thanks for this video. I’ve always had this affinity for fields and how they are painted. I go to games early just so I could look and appreciate the fields. And take pictures.

7:40 thank you so much for making that comment. I absolutely hate the end zones that are not colored all the way and I don’t care if it’s a huge inconvenience for scrubbing out the color just do your freaking job. Figure it out because the problem is is that not coloring the entire end zone it bothers me in on top of that it doesn’t make senseif the end zone is color and all black all blue all red all yellow or whatever the color is, you would be able to know the difference between inbound and out of balance because the out of balance line will be white

Interesting video… but I was REALLY hoping you’d explain HOW they paint the Viking at the 50 and VIKINGS in the end zones. Is there a template of some sort? Can’t imagine it’s all free hand, or is it?
@Yamobethere85Ай бұрын
Stencils. Kinda how they did the Vote in the back of the endzone. I'm sure the Viking in the middle takes a bit of artistic talent but mostly just giant stencils.

In my humble opinion, I would love for the NFL commissioner to make mandatory that all 32 NFL teams use real natural grass. I understand all the benefits of using artificial turf, but that doesn’t matter there’s nothing like playing on real grass.

Seems like a better idea to have all field lines and yard markings woven and made a permanent part of the field turf. Even if if means having both high school and NFL yard markings. Less labor and work involved.
@r.p.9021Ай бұрын
Some of the markings are inlayed this way. The sideline hash marks are as was stated in the video. I would think the yardlines are too.

Dre Greenlaw should sue these clowns and the NFL for painted sidelines that caused him to slip and tear his Achilles. Painting grass is idiotic and dangerous. We don't need grass to be painted like carpet in order to have football. Just chalk lines. That massive white stripe of paint on that Super Bowl field stole a year of health and career from Dre Greenlaw.

This is the worst story of all time. Nothing that he does is explained. He seems to be only focused on himself, isn't he wonderful, it's all about him. None of the details about how the paint is applied or removed or WHY is covered. What a waste of time.
