Sam Darnold balling out for one season shouldn't change the future. Keep JJ. If Sam starts sucking or goes down with an injury they'll be glad they didn't trade away their future QB. Even if it means he's gonna sit an extra 1-2 seasons

They ain’t trading him after Darnold’s performance last night

This wasn't a "tank season." Vikings fans knew they were gonna be good. Only in the national medias eyes were the Vikings gonna be terrible. Also Sam Darnold already played his way into a 40 to 50 million a season contract. Probably over 50 considering how many teams need a QB. My only question is can the Vikings possibly get a 1st and 3rd round pick for him? Fingers crossed.

I'm not sure what all went into the decision to retain Randall Cunningham after his monster 1998 season, but the decision was made to roll with him in 1999 only for him to regress considerably (at the expense of the team) before being replaced by Jeff George. I'm not saying Darnold will regress in a similar fashion, but this is something to consider. But this also probably means that JJ won't be traded away.

i think the vikings would need to win the Super Bowl to trade JJ, but i could be wrong.

Darnald is worthless when it counts!

money for playoff performance? Dallas didn't get the memo. Known assets are better than projected talents all day long. You are talking about give up a winner for someone who might win. It sounds that stupid because it is.

“Respectfully, if Darnold wins playoff games, he becomes the known asset while McCarthy remains unproven. Keeping Darnold and trading McCarthy for picks isn’t ‘giving up a winner’-it’s maximizing assets while sticking with what works. Winning in the playoffs isn’t easy, so why risk success for potential?” Learn football

@@ThePlayAction2 facepalm... I was calling darnold "a proven winner" since he has won in the nfl this season, vs the "projected talent" of mccarthy who has done nothing in the NFL and "might win" in the future... learn english.
