Things I replaced: OEM Injectors, OEM Coils, OEM O2 sensors (pre-cat). The plugs I purchased from Autozone not knowing they weren't the OEM style (2-prong). Definitely change those out. OEM Ionic control modules. Cleaned the MAF's. I replaced the right rear tire this April thinking the tire was bad, but clearly the wheel is damaged enough that it's still leaking. The belly pan was ripped to all hell, so I just tore it off and left it off. The shield over the transmission was also beat up, so I took that off. I do have some bulbs for the low beams I believe. Windshield cracked this winter after I replaced the O2 sensors. Got them swapped, turned the car on and let it heat up. It was literally one of the coldest days and with the front defroster on a tiny crack turned into massive crack across the screen. One other note: The cigarette plug in the front does not work. There was a penny stuck in it when I bought it and I never got around to troubleshooting the issue as I was constantly chasing the misfire issues.

Great video - This will be a great car for one of your viewers (maybe me) to buy! Love the spec on this baby plus the "Nathan Seal of Approval"

Awesome video man! Seeing this beast up and running smoothly probably around 26-28k? Clean titles are selling good above 32ish. Salvage title even with manual shouldnt be worth anything close to low 20’s. Excited for more content!

The alternator for the e60 m5 has a metal brush like part on the back side. Don't remember the part name, but I replaced that myself for cheap. Typically the bearings in the alternator outlast this part three times longer. I no longer have alternator codes going on for a year now. Replaced this part at 127,600 miles.

I'd say it's worth $30k by the time you document the repairs and have the dents fixed. Don't sell it to that numbnuts Eric at I do cars

My E60 had one of the sway bar brackets break too (passenger side, just like yours). i didnt hit anything either...must be metal fatigue or some other defect. Anyway, i chose to replace the whole subframe since in order to properly weld it you have to take it out anyway. $150 for a used subframe and luckily my mechanic didnt kill me on the labor charges.

As an owner of an E60 manual right now, I would totally pay low twenties for this car, even though I hate blue.

Salvage title car is about 10-15% less than clear title car. So if clear title car is $30K you would expect this car to bring $25.5K. If it has been years since the salvage and significant miles have been put on the car since the incident the effect is usually very minimal on price versus a new salvage titled car.

This seems like the perfect candidate for an excellent sorted driver. Salvage history means it'll never be worth the crazy big bucks of the low mile manual cars but you can drive it worry free

This is an insight into just how difficult it is to purchase a used speciality car. The fact that it's a Cat or whatever is only one minor consequence for the car. The motor trade tries to classify cars by all these factors, however under you actually have someone who knows the cars look it over and confirm if the engine needs to be torn down for whatever...the real value of the car in terms of its usability just cannot even be guessed.

Nathan the entire back half of the car from the rear doors back to the trunk has been repainted. I'm guessing this car will bring north of 30k. Polish alternators spin backwards and discharge the battery :)
