I would like to see an emphasis on larger vehicles where now the cyclops is a stepping stone into an even larger vehicle.

Adding on to that; I would absolutely love for there to be much bigger and deeper biomes than in the first game to make those bigger vehicles more necessary for exploration. For me personally, there wasn't even a lot of reason to go and bring my Cyclops anywhere at all after I got my Seamoth (and later PRAWN) fully upgraded which was a little disappointing, and even without upgrades, most of the important areas were much too small and tight for the Cyclops.

I would absolutely hate a base defense for subnautica 3, one of my favorite features of subnautica was the ability to build bases in multiple locations, and not having to manage ammo or really batteries. I feel like base defense would take away from the ability to make long journeys because you would have to check on your base. I also loved that the leviathans would not follow you home, so you could have an actual safe space to breath and relax for a little before retrying your last adventure.

I'm pretty sure they stated below zero was not canon or at least a spin-off in some way, hence why the third game is Subnautica 2 and not 3. So i don't think the story will continue from there

Below zero was supposed to be a small dlc , just adding a few creatures and biomes to the original but it got bigger and bigger and bigger and it became easier to release a 2nd smaller game where they could also change the graphics

You have good thoughts and I’m definitely interested in the new game once it comes out. I don’t care for MODs and it’s wonderful that this isn’t one.

For the new game I definitely want to go back to that sense of being stranded and completely/mostly alone in unchartered territory like in the first game, the sense of mystery/exploration in the first game was so good and I completely agree with "losing that alone feeling" or sense of exploration that the second game took away from you with your sister and Alan who both basically guided you from point A to point B etc, I feel like it greatly took away from the amazing immersion in solitude that the first game had. In regards to having a focus on base defenses, that sounds awesome! Maybe depending on which biome you're situated in would dictate what kind of base defenses/fauna you might have to worry about, having some kind of risk/reward system set up would be fun, in the first two games you could build a base somewhere and generally be pretty safe indoors, but what if certain fauna actively attacked your base and you needed to also have to focus on some kind of defense system that you needed to actively keep up to keep your base safe (like a tower defense game), needing to farm a particular resource to keep certain defense mechanisms active, just like another power source you needed to keep the lights on, but the further down/out you go, the more rare the resource becomes making it that much more difficult to explore the really hard to get to places, sounds like a fun challenge to me! As for the multi-player aspect, I would love to play co-op with a buddy to mix things up, maybe resource harvesting values are halved/quartered depending on how many players are participating, perhaps the fauna spawn rates are higher or hits just a little bit harder too so you really need to work together to survive, if there is some kind of virus/obstacle that keeps one/more of the players from participating/engaging in more "endgame" locations, maybe there's some kind of quest chain/dungeons that each person needs to complete to get "cured" or whatever, something that makes it a team effort to get everybody else on the same level.

I wish they added multi player support

With new biomes, a hopefully larger map, and perhaps a deeper map, a new faster sub would be handy. Could make it torpedo shaped, fast af going straight, with a medium turn speed. It would also make a spectrum of speed vs utility, with the prawn grappling arms being an outlier

I don't think that multiplayer should be a part of it. Part of the fear of sub 1 is that you are alone in an unknown world

One major flaw at 2:38 is that Subnautica doesn't use UE and uses Unity instead, and always has.

I know, if they do switch engine we can see those

I thought in some interview it was stated that the Devs just recently (as of last year or so) switched to UE while starting to develop the third game (?)

Unknown Worlds are using UE5 to make Subnautica 3

I hope they will add multiplayer as an option

I swear if they dont add this stuff. It would be so cool🔥🔥💯

Multiple "worlds" with their owe set of biomes or perhaps a procedurally generated world so every playthrough feels different. there are a lot of other ideas I have but I'll just trust unknownworlds with what they do.
