Thank you ... really. You're the only one who really shows the functionallity of the watch and the Wear OS All the rest only spots the fitness tracking (which all smartwatches do)... and most of the users are not fitness people... similar when every gadget presents the weather as the most useful app, when it is not. Anyway, you were the only one who showed me how the notifications can be managed and replied; which is the most useful feature for me at work (because use Nine app for Exchange Mail) Now, I'm ordering one... my first because I still believe in traditional watches, but now I'll give it a try.

Just recently returned mine. I tried the fossil and ticwatch wearOS devices. With the latest updates. WearOS just doesn't seem ready. It's either that or the processors in the latest hardware just can't cut it. We ended up going to the Galaxy watch devices. I really wanted the Google OS devices to work out.

Samsung watches have performed really well for me so I was interested if there were benefits to going with Wear OS. Some are they but it still has lots to improve.

For Google maps, do you get notifications on the next turn on the watch the same way as the Apple watch?

Yeah you do but the watch cannot so navigation independent of the phone.

So ex TicWatch C2 user here. I bought it 3 months ago and had it for 1 month, sold it. Had every bug that you just showcased and many more. AOD for example, was much brighter than the dimmest setting on the display. The experience was laggy and applications even from google, like Google contacts were not working properly (in that case the photos for contacts were not downloaded to watch until the contact itself was refreshed). GooglePay was a joke by forcing me to set a swipe password to unlock a watch every single time I wanted to do on it (literally always, not when I just want to pay). Random heating and performance drops, a battery that couldn't hold one full 24h was a bummer too. It was hellish experienced compared to my previous smartwatch which was Pebble 2 SE. WearOS is not fully backed, unoptimized, underdeveloped and half-forgotten project of Google's. Slates and acquiring the Fossil changed nothing. It's just shame that Samsung Pay is not working in my country (Poland). Currently running MiBand 4, considering switching to iPhone just to get Apple Watch 4 but it will hurt a lot and gonna miss my S Pen that I'm using since 2012.

I want to buy the TicWatch S2 for my son, but there is one important thing that i did not understand : Can this watch do phone calls like the TicWatch Pro? I had the Ticwatch E but I sold it because i found out that it lagged a lot and the battery drained really fast. Like 12-24h. The wear os doesnt seem ready, really bad optimized. Galaxy watch is faar better but soo expensive haha!
