I am OK with them making changes, in fact I envite those, avatar has always been about the characters, if I wanted to watch the same show I would just watch the og cause it’s already so good. Like the Last of Us show, if there’s changes but it still elevates the characters, like Bill and Frank, I’m ok with that

One piece was able to do a lot with 8 episodes and it turned out great. So let’s see if Netflix can do the same thing for Avatar The Last Airbender.

Yeah. What’s interesting is that the run time of 8 1hr episodes is almost identical to the runtime of season 1 of the animated show. So it’s definitely possible to cover the important parts of the story. Just hope they do it right.

It's also worth mentioning that the new series is gonna be PG13, which, in my opinion, is a bit disrespectful to the original series. The original series was mostly famous for balancing lighthearted and comedic moments with serious moments. And this new live action series kind of ruins that, because it's not really for people of all ages like the original series was. How do you expect to honor the original series if you don't make it appeal to everyone? That's an L for netflix right there.

What are you on about? You know that the original series is PG, right? And the weakest part of it is how terrible it is at humor, and how much it undermines the viewer. Any real fan would want this show to treat itself more seriously, like even the earliest of Harry Potter movies

@@almas4663 Exactly. The original series was PG. It appealed to everyone. And this new series is most likely gonna end up disrespecting it. Also, that's your opinion on the humor. But almost all the humour in the show is hilarious. Especially alot of the moments with sokka.

It's very hard to explain why I love this show to people, when it's filled with such a disrespectful humor. It needs to be for ALL ages - like Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone.

@@almas4663 humor is a very important part of the show. Without humor, it would probably just be too boring. If you think the humor sucks, then you probably have no sense of humor. There's nothing funnier than seeing sokka go crazy after drinking cactus juice, or seeing toph get offended after team avatar forget she's blind. Avatar had some of the best humor in animation.

I mean "cut the kiddish humor, that undermines the audience intelligence" Avatar is filled to the brim with humor that feels like "Quick! We have to do some cringe sh*t so stupid kids wouldn't cry!", not understanding that kids AREN'T stupid unless you teach them to be. I was around 4-5 when the series started premiering, and believe it or not - I loved it for being a serious, dark, action-filled show with touching morals and deep topics... I loved it for being so unique from other TV shows I watched....But each time they had Sokka do some silly faces and scream some cringe - I was pulled away from my immersion... This is, primarily - a Heartfelt fantasy story about love, friendship, war, loss, hope and bitterness..And I want it to be this way, not limited by network humor quota. Let this show be heartfelt, but not a comedy. I don't want this to be an MCU movie that just HAS to joke every 10 seconds, and can't let itself shut up even when Aunt May dies

@@Andrew-pv8oz This show is written by fans, has the fan-composer who begged for a permission to get a licence to use the OG music, has costumes that are as accurate as they could've been to the show...A perfect cast, without a single black american actor or trans person involved, a choreography team that knows the OG martial arts, a runtime equal to the first season of the show minus the fillers, a Mandalorian set-design technique, a MASSIVE budget, a director worried to do the show justice
