Also, WB had basically gotten rid of Snyder by Aquamans release. Im glad that they finally have a clear plan for this reboot, and as a DC fan, while I may have some minor criticisms, I still am incredibly excited to hopefully see DC get the love and respect they deserve in live-action, animation and games. @@monelmonelmonel I do understand what you mean since I do have some critisms and preconcerns over how well structured this plan is so far, even though to be we dont know the full picture yet. But I do totally understand your point since I love DC, and I just want to see the franchise get a well-structured cinematic universe with good films and stories told. For example, I'm incredibly happy having a Superman movie, Supergirl movie, or a Green Lantern show, even though I wouldve prefer a live-action sci-fi movie, but whatever, maybe that'll happen in the long term. However, Im a bit hesitant about this universe starting with movies about characters St Rock, Authority, or Clayface feel redundant or even unnecessary when there are probably better characters to feature in the first chapter of the DCU no, to mention probably better to build them later. However, we do have to remember James Gunn's plan seems to be less like the MCU which is a linear cinematic universe that started with Iron Man and had to change things from the comics to build up their universe from scratch at the detriment of following a somewhat repetitive formula, and only at times taking major risks that can either lead to great films or bad films, whereas James Gunn seems to be taking the Star Wars franchise plan where we get an established world with multiple stories coinciding with one another and at times can connect together, but also have the room to tell more multifaceted stories with different characters and tones, but James Gunn really seems to prioritise good storytelling and passion in these projects which is a good thing that some comic book movies today have forgotten about recently

@@night6724that isn’t what’s happening with the new DCU at all though. The next 3 projects all crossover with each other immediately. Krypto will appear in supergirl, and Guy Gardner will appear in Lanterns. And that’s just what we know about. It is also confirmed that there IS an overarching storyline for the universe, and projects like Lanterns play a big role in setting that up. There’s also an established timeline and lore for the DCU with a fleshed out history already in place. Just because a Clayface or sgt. rock movie gets announced here and there, doesn’t mean it’s anything like the nonsense you just quoted from Hamada 💀

I’m glad that although this is a connected universe, it’s not one big story going forward. The film doesn’t lead into the next one. Yes Superman has multiple heroes in it but it is still a Superman film it isn’t setting up a big story like BVS and Josstice League. I like that it is spread out and Gunn is starting by using different characters for films and tv with the exception of Batman and Superman. Instead of just going the common route of the main heroes then a big team up film you have characters like John Stewart, Hal Jordan , Swamp Thing, Booster Gold, Supergirl, Clayface, The Authority ect, characters that haven’t had the spotlight in a while or who people aren’t familiar with. It’s just a breath of fresh air and it leaves room for the more well known heroes like Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman ect who have had recent films to take a back seat, that doesn’t mean we won’t see Gunn’s versions of them in the future though.

@ because not only is he sticking to his comfort zone, what is basically copying and pasting guardians and suicide squad. Plus, the show really really wasn’t good. Numbers, wise and story wise. It added nothing to the DCU.

thats kinda all over the place. I hope it all works out because I just couldnt see another dc universe fail misserably like the last one. I am ok with that james gun wants to do smoething new but I think he should have went with the normal "mcu like" approche instead of trying to redifine the meaning of cinematic universe again but we'll see.

So first of all: The dceu did hav this bad structuring because they didn't follow the mcu 1 to 1. The mcu has incredeble structuring, I mean it redefined the genre and the dceu just did it wrong. Second of all: I didn't mean they should completly copy the mcu structuring. I ment that james gun should maby try to follow a more linear approche because what is shown here just looks like a hot mess of content that could easely overwelm a viever who wants to wach every last bit of content that this cinematic universe produces. It's also irretating me, that james gun conciders some pieces of the dceu cannon and some projects will release completly out of order
