Before the reveal I was hoping we'd get 16 characters racing at once, it always bugged me how they only added 4 extra characters instead of just doubling it from 8 but I never imagined 24. I kinda hope this mean that they're going to add other Nintendo characters in, and the roster will be huge.

The city in Cars is called Radiator Springs, which is based off of a specific real life town of Holbrook, Arizona. It's known for being that specific stop along the American Route 66 that's home to plenty of these Mesa formations, very stereotypically "Western", it appears Mario Bros. Circuit is based off of the exact same town. Going for a classic American highway theme, as well as featuring Arizona specific cacti and geographic formations

7:40 "Cool Hub" Thats what I've been saying for a couple years now. Original Mario Kart 8 came out on Wii U before the Original Splatoon. And the reason why I bring that up is cause I feel like Mario Kart could take some inspiration from Splatoon in the form of a hub world. Mind you, a tiny hub world. Maybe instead of moving around the hub world with Karts, you use a mini RC Car to choose what you want to play - ala Splatoon. After playing MK8D for literal years now on Switch, I find scrolling through the menu screens incredibly boring and dull.

The reality, at least for Nintendo, is that most games if not all will work on the old Switch, as there are 130+ million out in the wild. For a return on investment, offering games for those users guarantees tons of sells out of the gate. Of course the Switch 2 will provide better framerates and maybe even more features, like having 24 racers while the OG Switch sticks with 12. Nintendo is placing themselves in the best possible situation to make the most money possible, and I haven't seen anything so far showing otherwise.

@ They also know better than to not drop prices on systems, and not have a greatest hits line up of games as well, but none of those things happened this last generation for them. They've never really had a "2" system before either, this is all new territory for them. I'm sure they will have exclusives at some point, maybe from the start, I just don't think it will be big name titles at the start, not until they get the S2 user base way up.

I really really REALLY hope this is just a new mode. For players who are really good at mario kart, this looks like it'll be very boring. Imagine you're in first place going down these straightaways for 30 seconds at a time with nothing in front of you but a straight road. And then when the track does turn, it's very long, wide open turns. It's like forza style tracks in mario kart. Mario kart is about drifting around sharp curves and tight corners, courses like yoshi circuit are what i live for. I'm concerned. And that's not even touching on how it's seemingly the flagship game for nintendos next console, and yet it looks graphically identical to its predecessor that technically came out over 10 years ago.

The character designs of this game seem to be in a classic/retro style. Mario’s character model looks like how he looks on the box art of Mario Kart 64. And at first, I thought DK’s design was based on the Mario movie, but I recently found out that the design seems to based on the original design for DK.

Make a classic and story mode and in story mode is an open world story where you can get off your kart to go into shops and get missions. Make it so you can drive super fast by mastering some type of new mechanic or controls or even maybe a physics base system there’s so much they can do than just another Mario kart with cups and battle mode
