I feel like caldarus sealed his rival (possibly evil?) dragon to the cost of his own power and memories. And once we unlock all 6 seals both of them will be freed. And I think the priestess is sort of a lure this dragon uses to encourage us to free her. VERY excited for evil wife:>

Gosh i love the lore in this game. They didn't have to go that hard since cozy games rarely do but i adore the amount of world-building this game already has. I'm speculating that Caldarus and the other dragon had something to do with the split between the Aldarian Kingdom and the Caldosian Empire. It was mentioned by either Eiland or Errol (idk can't remember exactly) that they used to be one kingdom comprised of different pre-Alda tribes. There were no records of how or why they split tho. It's also intriguing that one dragon seems to have left traces of itself throughout history while the other just faded into obscurity. I can't wait for the Q4 update!

I think they'll introduce an NPC partner for Olric. Or eventually you'll learn some backstory of why he isn't interested. Like his partner is passed/will never come home and he keeps his commitment to them. Or he just says he's never been into anyone romantically. But I hope there's cutscenes where the player can respectfully make a move on him but he rejects you, and if you continue the friendship he explains why. Because they have to acknowledge that Olric checks all the boxes of a farming sim romance NPC.

My theory is that it is the Priestess but she won't be dateable until you finish her quest line (possibly finishing the mines?), she's wearing a hood so if she does have horns they're currently hidden (or maybe they show up later). She's also a ghost, so perhaps later on she regains her dragon powers and is brought back into her human/dragon form, likely like Caldarus would be. Going off the sprites, the gold head piece could be the jewels on her head, her hair is wavey, and it's possible her hair is blue and skin is grey despite her current palette being blue/white (cause shes dead duh). If the hood comes off than she might look more like the outline. Other theory is she plays a large part into reviving the second dragon, maybe giving herself up to revive them. Now does her Gem color change? Or maybe it's permanently purple until the revival. As far as I know, she's not someone you can actively talk to outside of the cutscenes. So it might just change later. EDIT: (Spoiler) If you play the game in 1x scale mode, you can see up the broken stairs in the ruins. It let's you see the statue :)

i think the unknown dragon is the other marriage candidate, but i dont think the dragon priestess is her. in my head, the priestess was a priestess, possibly the last priestess, who worshipped the unknown dragon, and now her spirit is attempting to get the player to release the dragon from the mines. im very excited to see where this goes though.

I believe the priestess is either a front put on by the evil dragon in order to lure the player into releasing her, or a version of the evil dragon without their memories. if the dragon really is evil, i don't see why there would be a seemingly innocent looking priestess worshipping them

I don’t think the forgotten dragon is evil just forgotten maybe because it represents that split so overtime the side who worships Caldarus forgot the other or made it forgotten due to the split.

I also share this sentiment and adored getting to woo 2 beautiful lore-locked gods 🥰 it creates a challenge after completing the main story but doesnt necessarily affect your day to day life in the game. I think Seridia was the Witch Queen of the ancient kingdom while Caldarus was the Dragonsworn Hero. What I wonder is why have they both been magically sealed and by who. Maybe Seridia did? Or perhaps it was Caldarus

Maybe that's the only way he was able to seal the Witch Queen, staying inside the statue and her guardian. The earthquake erased his memory, and when we remove the seals we will free them both Perhaps the two dragons are related as opposites, and it is impossible for only one of them to be trapped, or both, or neither

It's interesting to see that characters like the Priestess and Olric are both conventionally attractive and interesting to the point you'd think they'd be romanceable but... I agree with a lot of others in that the Priestess probably won't end up a romantic interest at any point in the story. But since there's also Olric........ I'd actually be kind of curious to see if there's going to be some kind of romantic subplot for the two of them (or at least for one.) Especially because Olric used to be a miner so the Priestess could be familiar with him. Errol would talk about hearing a beckoning voice in the mines that creeped him out. I can't remember if Olric really talked about the voice, but at the very least, he didn't seem spooked like Errol was. Or maybe I just really want side romances because, like in Harvest Moon Animal Parade, I kind of miss having romantic rivals. It made me feel better, in a way, to know that the people I didn't choose in the end would still have someone to love. 🥺 (Also because I like Olric but not as much as the people who are saddened by him not being romanceable lmao)

Maybe the existence of Eiland and Adeline tells something about the story of Caldarus vs Other Dragon. I feel like there's a correlation somewhere. Maybe like twins who had a fall out, siblings who betrayed eo. but i reaaaaaally feel like having Eiland and Adeline as the royals in the today's context of Mistria has something to do with the past.

Great video!! The lore is a lot more in depth than I realized 😮 I like the theory that they were bitter rivals of the opposing two kingdoms someone else mentioned here. I have a theory that Juniper may be a witch looking for Seridia’s sealed statue to try and bring her back. Maybe Caldarus was sealed by Seridia and her followers, and the Priestess sacrificed herself to do the same to Seridia so she couldn’t cause any more harm. Either way I’m excited to see how the main story plays out!

As Eiland did mention that the statue seemed to appear after the earthquake in the reopening of the mines cut scene.

Another thing is maybe they hate eachother because they disagree with what they focus on. Caldarus could hate that other dragon for simply having land in the mines. Maybe he disagrees with mining or thinks it’s too dangerous for the people, which in turn could cause a massive argument between them.

Caldarius is my bbg and i might cry if he did smt bad to the unknown dragon. i dont think he did, but imagine if they had a falling out or smt and it was his fault? id actually cry. what id love though: Id love if they were siblings!! like what if it used to be evenly split on how many people worshiped them, or they were even worshiped together, but over time Caldarius was more popular and the unknown dragon slowly faded to obscurity. obviously, more must have happened because they seem to hate eachother due to the gift thing and im deffo just spouting ideas out my butt. maybe one of them did smt bad or used bad magic or maybe even it was just a massive misunderstanding that made them dislike eachother!

Maybe Olric fell in love with the dragon priestess during his mining days, but once the earthquake hit, he got injured. She probably saved him, bringing him out of danger, but in turn he lost his memory. That's why he won't be a marriage candidate. Maybe at the end of the game they will marry and live in the currently locked church

It's kind of funny you mentioned Animal Parade(I will pay good money... maybe for a Switch port or something since Marvelous publishes their current games on Steam & the Switch) cause I was thinking about the wizard from that game for some reason. I guess maybe it's because I find myself more interested in the mystery candidates when available.(Or at the very least magic based ones given I adore the wizard) Some interesting stuff to theorize in this, going to be interesting to find things out eventually.(Probably in a later update down the lane or something)

It would be so interesting if the other dragon is evil and following that dragon could result in this game's version of the Joja ending. Once all five seals are broken we fully learn of the history of the empire and we can either side with Caldarus or the other dragon and that determines the ending. Then the chosen dragon can be fully romanced.

If I were the one programing the game, if an NPC has dateable set to true, then I'd automatically have the heart show up next to their name. Which makes the priestess not having a heart really weird, because why show that Caldarus is romancable but not her. This might mean that the priestess and Seridia are different people, but just use the same NPC because they want breaking the seals to be tied to Seridia I guess.
