I know a fair bit about these cars (I've owned three R53's and learnt a lot about them along the way). Let me tell you, you've got yourself a good MINI there for what you paid for it! It's the facelift model, so has the upgraded teflon bladed supercharger. It has the upgraded HK sound system, and chrono pack (the central dials). These were expensive opinions at the time. They're very reliable engines; they weirdly use the same block as a Chrysler Neon! When serviced and any repairs are made (which I don't think will be much), modding it or getting it to a point where you're happy should be fairly inexpensive. I had a facelift R53 and £1.5K in engine mods will easily see around 220BHP. I don't know where you're based but it's worth having a chat with the guys at 1320MINI. They're based in St Neots and specialise in all things MINI's.

No, i swapped a VW golf and £1900 for it. I valued the golf at £2000. therefore the mini cost £100

@@jamesellis342worlds apart. Cooper is around a 100hp, normally aspirated. The cooper S stock is 163 hp supercharged and with the Kavs pulley probably closer to 190/200hp…will pull your arms out with the torque steer. Great fun to drive….
