I understand manufacturers defending copyright to some extent, but I feel like at least any guns formally adopted by real world militaries should be allowed to be depicted with their original specs and names because it is literally a fact that such guns are adopted and used on Earth. Calling an MP5 the “Lachmann Sub” will NOT bring about world peace.

Also, the Ak74 model has this weird extra sling attachment point on the side of the reicever, as well as the standard sling mount on the barrel, I have no idea why they did that.

IDK, I think by virtue of CoD being the most popular FPS on the market, they somewhat can't get away with more accurate depictions of real firearms. However plenty of other competitors have straight up carbon copies of real firearms, and apparently feel like they'll continue to fly under the radar. That being said, by virtue of CoD being such a cash cow, they do have the resources to acquire licensing. 🤷‍♂️
