About the apple Fun fact: in Greece it was common practice to toss an apple at someone and if they were to catch it ment you are reciprocating feelings for them almost like a marriage proposal. That may be why kratos cut the apple basically rejecting the proposal.

I would say for me personally, the only things that I despise from GOW 4 are: 1) the overly complicated rpg mechanics (I'm not saying to remove them I just want them to be simpler as they can be very unfair and immersion-breaking at times) 2) The lack of a manual jump button (This one for me is not that big of a deal because combat is still awesome, but jumping'd be cool) Aside from these complaints, the game seems to be pretty fucking good and Ragnarok will be even better!

and I really don't like the semi-open world, cause it limits what's this game can offer, look at the older gow games, they looked much bigger and they have gigantic areas like atlas, pandoras temple, atlantis. those areas felt bigger and more beautiful in the older games cuz of their linear aspects, without talking about the gorgeous backrounds like the war in the city wjile you fight the colossus, gow 3 gods vs titans backrounds and even gow 1 had that when you meet ares in the first time fighting the athena army. gow4 giving the players the abilitie to go where ever they want and giving them the freedom to explore really mad the game feel small, and lacking the amazing backrounds and the feeling that you went in a long voyage like gow 2, and 1 and even ghost of sparta. and I knew that this is caused by the RPG mechanics.

44:09 i think the reason kratos can survive the cold is the same reason he got the blades of chaos. It wasn't just to kill ice enemies in helheim but to actually keep kratos alive and not freeze to death in helheim. The blades are foreign magic after all Atreus is revealed to be loki and loki is an ice giant so that can be the reason atreus doesn't freeze to death in helheim Mimir is basically dead and reincarnated so i dont think the cold can affect him And baldur cant feel pain or be killed so he isn't even bothered by the cold

About mistletoe, it's kinda mythology legend theme. In legends Freya did cast invunerable spell on baldur, but mistletoe was so rare that everyone thinked that it does not exist anymore in any of nine realms so that's why she didnt cast spell on this. Of course in game its not shown or said but still, cool detail!)

I feel like the main problem with lightning arrows is that despite a main theme of the game being about how kratos is healing from being a monster, choosing to use lightning arrows makes me feel like more of a monster than anything in the greek games

When it comes to the Loki reveal, as someone who knows a decent bit of Norse Mythology, it still surprised me quite a bit, because its not really what I came to expect because of how close Atreus is to us. i was wondering where Loki was in the myths, but I had assumed that perhaps he was already captured / dead as Odin seemed to be portrayed as more evil and ruthless, so instead of capturing his kids ( Hel, Fenrir and Jorm ), he just killed him instead, or captured him. Its also just a surprising reveal considering how close Atreus is to us, so despite the clues, its surprising, but the clues make it understandable, it instantly clicked into my head and the other seeds like Jorm being sent back in time fixing the " Atreus giving birth to a giant snake " and so on.

Tbh I think everything about god of war 4 is great, just needs refinement around the edges, I love the menu and how simple it is, although most people don’t like the rpg mechanics of there being too many armor sets etc, I’m totally fine with it, it adds variety, but one thing I do hate is the armors that cover all of kratos’ chest 😂 I have Valkyrie armor + but I use deadly mist armor because it looks so much better, but I like the runic attacks and the enchantments and the talismans a lot, really adds variety and then in the endgame you can become insanely op if you have the best enchantments and armor etc, it’s a fun mechanic and adds replay-ability imo, and makes new game + rewarding.

In the sin 42:36, it's actually more of a sin if you take a look at the god of war 1 and 2 novels. i believe it's said that the blades are in the armory of Ares thrown room. But Kratos leaves them there cause A- the blades of Athena at the time were more powerful than the blades of chaos and B- since it brings back bad memories (for obvious reasons) he leaves them there. Before someone says the books aren't cannon, it's been stated multiple times that it's secondary canon. This means that some portions are cannons unless contradicts the games that make it non canon. And it's near the end of i believe the first book where the game originally ends. Which added more and did not contradict the ending of the first for the most part.

Personally, I like the game being called “God of War” again. This is because it’s a new beginning for the series as Kratos says in the E3 trailer which is also the description of the game when you hover over it on the ps dashboard. I don't think Atreus, illness was related to him thinking he was 100% mortal. Freya said it was his , nature , which is also Krato's true nature , that was killing the boy which I have reason to believe is related to His Spartan rage flames. You see the flames of Spartan rage coming out of Atreus and he falls the second after that..we find he is ill and dying at Freya's house and what is that she asks Krato's to bring her The heart of Gate keeper and if you look at heart of Gate keeper it has winds of Hel the coolest thing. That literally is counter i think a cool counter to the flame of Spartan rage inside Atreus. Also a quick side theory Greek gods were infected by that black world's all evils and Kratos was infected by Rage what if Spartan Rage is just that, that's why Kratos doesn't like to use it anymore.

Here's my question how does tyr travel to other pantheons via his bifrost eyes which are exclusive for realm travel between the nine realms that heavily implies that all the pantheons exist within the nine realms so yes the blades are from the nine realms otherwise tyr would not be able to go to other pantheons plus kratos sailed from Greece to Scandinavia which means midgard shares the same realm as Greece Olympus is above Greece not a separate plane of existence Hades it's below Grease the same way ,The Olympian Pantheon exists within the realm of Midgard yes the blades of chaos are from the nine realms Also with the modi lightning thing *Lighting is lightning* no matter where it's from

Create a segment inside the Midgard Serpent that would take players days, weeks, months or years in-game or in real life just to find the item. This game has pacing that doesn't need to be extended.

I won't lie, the only thing I really don't like about the video is that both of you guys, while you make some good, and sometimes weird points admittedly, never really talk about how many time constraints were caused by how much they had to create. They never got to be as creative as they would have liked to be, and Hell, even in Hel, you were SUPPOSED to fight the bird, but again, time constraints, so, Troll fight. That goes for every enemy in the game being similar, and marginally the same. It's a nitpick of mine, and I'm probably being too nitpicky, but I feel like some research should be done for those reasons to be fully realized, and to make sense as to why it happens. Even the documentary shared that Cory and the team were in complete chaos with how stressful it was to finish the game because they took a year and a half, if not longer just to make the E3 demo they made, and now had to finish the game within a timeframe, while also reasoning with Sony to delay the game longer to buy as much time as they could, and a lot of the sins I've noticed, while not a majority of them, are just conflicting to me because of the amount of times I could say "Time constraints". But the same can't be said for some things like why T.C Carson couldn't return, as, apparently, he was too short to fit the motion capture, but at the same time, you did mention he wasn't told about this whole thing, but he, indeed, was. Just a lot of things I could think about after having seen, and even researched while watching this video, and my time just knowing God of War in general making me curious to know everything I can about Kratos and his stories, and the development process the games took to perfect what they could, and the conditions that were given because of everything that went down. Also, just to add, yes, he wasn't born a God, but he was also making sure he doesn't tell Atreus everything about his past life so that way he is spared even knowing about what Kratos did, or ever thinking about who he was, or the road he took because of it. So, his way of making sure it's unknown is by saying "I was born a God", not "I was made into a God", because Atreus would question why he was made into a God, and it would lead to various things Kratos would have to worry about with his past of being the Ghost of Sparta.

I really like the new GOW games but I honestly after playing Ragnarok, I can’t help to say that I really wish GOW would return to the old formula man. I like the open world and stuff but the rpg part is something I honestly dislike. I don’t like the idea of Kratos having to be a certain level in order to fight a enemy and also it’s like every game is becoming a rpg game which is overwhelming at times with having to look at stats and enchantments, it’s just too much of a grind especially at the age I am with trying to figure out my life and I can’t spend too much time on the game. I really think new GOW games should be more like the old games and with the old games taking a lil bit from the new GOW games

Modern gow games are best enjoyed without leveling up your armor and using enchants, just levelling the weapons. Just dont worry and get better as you play more. Also, if SMS did an old style video game, I can with certainty predict the outrage of the internet: Everyone calling it milking. I am for it but you cant make both sides happy. Either people hate the modern gow for being different, or hate what could have theoretically happened with an old style gow and call it milking

I swear on everything I want SOMEONE to leak the freaking reason WHY Sony shafted and replaced T.C Carson as kratos after ALL the work he did in the past games. I know they must have had their reasons but you just don’t do that to the voice actor who literally made your character with his spectacular voice acting. They probably feel that it’s none of our business but I feel the public deserves to know why a voice that was ingrained in our childhood was just replaced in a heart beat…and even without telling him to which is just kinda disgusting in my opinion.
