Everything Wrong With My Aston Martin DB9 - Long Term Ownership

2020 was a strange year for us all, I parked my Aston Martin DB9 in my garage in March and didn't turn it over for 12 months! Stupid I know, but with everything 2020 threw up the last thing on my mind was looking after the car.
With the exception of putting a CTEK trickle charge on the vehicle the first time I have given it any attention is when we came to film this.
I have always used a local garage in Liverpool called Ashwell Motors. Paul and his team are great and super knowledgeable. These guys look after all of our cars from the vintage Daimlers through to the more complex modern cars.
My aim in this film is to initially see if the car starts, then take it into the garage for Paul to give the vehicle a once over. Making sure all is well. He is going to give the car a MOT and Service, but we film a bit of an inspection which would resemble what a MOT would entail.
The reason we didn't film the actual MOT and service was so that Paul could give us more time for filming.

The first (very important!) thing to do when starting a DB9 after not driving it for a while is to hold the accelerator to the floor while pressing the Start button! That will crank the engine over and distribute oil without starting the car, allowing the engine to be lubricated at low RPMs. After cranking it for several seconds, you release the accelerator and press Start again, and it will start normally.

a race horse dosent like being in a stable for days on end Super cars like this dont like it either use them on fine days in the winter months laying a car up for months will do it no good IMO

Can two adults sit on the back of this car and travel or are the rear seats realistically only for runs from the pub?

No! I drive the Rapide with extra 30 cm for the rear and thats a 2+2 seater. The DB9 is similar to the 911, the front seats touch the rear seats if 2 adults are sitting in front.
