It's been season 3 since Lightning Dust appeared and she hasn't changed one bit. And refused to redeem and continue being Rainbow Dash's rival. The show hardly let villains remain bad these days. I've grown sick of bad guys being redeemed because... friendship is magic, anyway.

As always, bonus sins: Doesn't the Apple Family still own the land that clubhouse is on? It's one thing if Scootaloo has special permission to have her fan clubs there, but what's Rainbow doing there? Granted, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon once wandered over there, and even Cozy Glow hung out around there, so maybe I'm wrong. Scootaloo is a minor, and ergo, can't legally sign documents like the one needed to join a stunt team. Not that any paperwork was shown.

Lightning Dust has a ton of potential. I remember in the original ending(which was cut for time), she was simply demoted, and admits to Dash that she was wrong with how she went about things, which, considering everything before then, just felt out of left field. I could have definitely seen a redemption episode working with Lightning Dust but they didn't give us that now did they? Another bad thing about season 8 is how redemption works now!

I hate this episode, it just tries to make Lightning Dust a villain for being talented in speed, I mean Twilight and the others went into restricted air space and somehow it's Lightning Dust's fault This is just another Boast busters style episode, Lightning Dust is doing her job and somehow that's enough to make her a villain and hated by another pony. but we have characters like Discord doing MUCH worse things and on purpose and he gets a free pass every time. I guess MLP is trying to teach us that it's okay to be a terrible person as long as you have someone of power (like a princess.) to back you up.

Bonus Sins The sneaky Rainbow Dash grin is back. +1. After RD and Lightning Dust greet each other, Scootaloo introduces her self. Been there, done that, Hasbro! Remember when you made RD and Gilda greet, followed by Pinkie just "Donkeying" in? +1. It's the second hardcore villain in this season that doesn't go through the "reform" act. -1. Buuut +1 because they made Flim Flams jerks again, even after they reformed in that Casino episode.

Well, Lightning Dust is a Rival, not a villain. Rivals aren't evil, they just don't like the mane six, Like Flim and Flam who are just business ponies who legally haven't done anything bad, or Iron Will (the bull) Who is just a freelancer. Trixie was a rival, but became evil in season three, thus she could become reformed. But Lightning Dust hasn't done anything truly evil, so she isn't a villain and can't be reformed.
