Reliability is one of those things that take time and experience to get right. There is a reason that small automakers have a terrible reputation for making reliable cars no matter what price point we are talkin about. Companies that have been around for decades still fuck up, but Tesla absolutely needs to improve and there is a limit to how much you can excuse.

They say the want to get ev's out to change the world, yet they make it hard (And expensive) to get them repaired or to even get the parts for users like rich and myself that would gladly fix my own tesla (up to certain points of course, I wouldnt mess with the HV battery stuff).

I'd love a video that makes that learning explicit by having you describe what things you think Tesla should do in the engineering of their vehicles to make them more reliable, easier to operate, and easier to maintain. I'm sorta tripping...to know that you have to take such an independent route to establishing a Tesla repair shop. That is CRAZY!! If I were Tesla (actually if I were someone who gave a shit, and had the power to give a shit), I would have created (a LONG time ago) a Certified Tesla Mechanic (CTM) program, that would train and certify independent Tesla mechanics, like yourself (Rich), to fix and modify Teslas. And maybe that same program would have Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certifications for increasingly (3, 2, 1) sophisticated fix capabilities. Tesla should support that repair network with reduced parts pricing, advance parts and technology information, and general liaison support. Tesla should also invest a nominal amount of startup cash to help CTMs define location, branding, and future expansion capabilities. Tesla should establish a computerized system within the repair network that would automate parts ordering and also create a two-way conversation to exchange information on fix solutions (to the CTM) and also make bug and manufacturing and parts issues to Tesla. This automated process would help CTMs fix cars more efficiently, and simultaneously help Tesla's manufacturing process. This only makes sense. IS THIS STRANGE OR NEW?? Am I the only one thinking this?? There is soooooooooooooo much money to be made in the support and service market for cars, and it's like Tesla is totally shitting in the pipe, and shutting that pipe down. I admire Elon Musk, but in this scenario he's as dumb as wood, and as brain-dead as a stranded Tesla. Listen, Tesla, my name is Glenn McGregor, and if you want to hire me as the Global Service Liaison, get in touch with me. You guys are doing a shit-poor job of supporting people who WANT to purchase your cars. It may not be your intent, but this is EXACTLY the way to go out of business, I don't care how sweet your cars are. Every time I take my BMW to service, they give me a loaner, treat me nicely, and otherwise let me know that my pricey repairs are worth their cost. As a new car identity, Tesla has every opportunity to do this properly. Otherwise they are SERIOUSLY shooting themselves in the foot. For a company that's so smart (Rich, as your mom said "Dem can send a man to the moon, but they can't......"), they're acting pretty dumb in this respect, and then I can't feel sorry for them when they fail. Listen, Tesla, Rich is a GENIUS. You're gonna want to make him the first CTM in your new network, that you hire me to create. Got it?

Every time I see one of your videos... it makes me wish I could find a better paying job so I can go out and build cars too... Would love to be able to own a Tesla Model S... Even if it was salvage and I had to rebuild it all myself... At least knowing you're out there, and have done it, makes those of us in similar situations have hope!

Really enjoyed this video! I hate when people don't double up paper bags when putting 30+ pounds in them. I'm not carrying individual bags like they are a baby. I am grabbing 3 or 4 of them by the corner and making one trip of it like god intended, so double up on the damn bags.

I've never understood why so many people like black interiors. They are better at hiding marks etc but always seem to make the interiors feel more claustrophobic. Light colours for the win :-P

Not to mention you can never find ANYTHING in a black interior. You drop something, it's just gone! Even a 'tactical' flashlight won't help. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "disappeared into a black hole."
