The difference between Peter being dropped in the lake and Peter possibly falling off of the Washington Monument is that during the fall into the lake scene Peter had a parachute which ironically was the reason he nearly drowned since he got tangled in the parachute and couldn’t get loose so if the suit hadn’t shown up to pull him out he would have died then and there, when the Washington Monument scene happened Karen informed him that since he had not reinstalled his parachute the fall would most likely kill him. So again ironically if he had, had the parachute that almost caused his death in Washington it actually would have saved his life if he had fallen but that didn’t happen so it wasn’t an issue.

I'm surprised they didn't sin the fact that Liz has literally NO deductive reasoning skills. Peter disappears literally any time they have more than a few minutes with each other. And a few of those times, Spiderman shows up randomly. I mean why the fuck would Spiderman even be in Washington in the first place? He's literally only ever been spotted in New York. Not to mention, Peter has a mysterious internship that he isn't supposed to talk about with Tony Stark - the guy everyone knows is Ironman and the leader of the Avengers - and he even "knows Spiderman." I mean, the Vulture figured it out in literally seconds and he heard about all of it second hand ffs.

Zyxyx Yeah because I'm totally gonna suspect that someone who I rarely even talk to in person is off being a super villain when I'm not around, in a world where super villains don't exist. Anyone in her position with any level of deductive reasoning skills would at least be a little suspicious. There are numerous reasons why which I listed in my comment, but also in a world like the MCU where people with superpowers or some other incredible ability or talent are fairly regular at this point, you'd think you might start to theorize a little more. That's why your "grandma" metaphor doesn't work. Like seriously, by the time the Washington Monument scene happens you'd think she might have even just a creeping suspicion. But by the end of the movie, she still acts as though she doesn't even have a clue. You can try to justify it with half-assed metaphors all you want, but this is arguably this movie's biggest plot hole.

I agree that giving Spiderman a Jarvis seems weird. However, the reason why they did so is simple; they needed to give Spiderman someone to talk to; in the comics he's incredibly chatty (talks aloud to himself) and the writers often tell us his inner monologue. And the only way to capture that is to have him conversing with something/someone.

That's just lazy writing IMO, they didn't need to put an A.I so Peter could talk about his feelings. Take for example Raimi's Spider-man, how they actually use characters for Peter to open about how he feels about something.

What's clever about using an in-suit AI is that doings so allows the writers to get, in film, Spiderman in monologue as he often is with himself when in costume in the comics. That's why they did it. Spiderman is always talking, always sub-vocalizing and the added AI was a way to have Spiderman do that without needing another actual character to hear what's going on in Spiderman's head.

7:41 was literally one of the best scenes in the movie when it came to the storytelling, using the lights was genius! The fact that they used the traffic lights to show the Vulture putting together the evidence and then using the green light to show that he understood while still giving him that evil aesthetic was fantastic

I caught it too but it's more of a comic reference. Red and blue are Spidey's colors and shows like the Spectacular Spider-Man have used them to signify good things in his life. Peter wears a blue tie in the sequence. Vulture and many of Spider-Man's villains are green in color so the change in color also reflects that things are about to get bad for Spidey.

I think that instead of him just going AFTER the Vulture, he would’ve tried to call Happy, but Happy would’ve just hung up or not picked up so he decided to do something alone instead. Also, Cap didn’t just not beat Peter for that long period of time for plot convenience. He probably realized that he was a kid and didn’t want to hurt him too much. Probably underestimated him, too, so he didn’t really try TOO hard.

As much as I loved the hero/villain conversation in the car before homecoming as well, I was surprised you didn't give a sin for the fact that if this wasn't a spiderman movie, the villain most certainly would have killed the hero right then and there before said hero could immediately call Tony Stark and tell him what he knows. If you were the villain, and you were trying to steal from Tony Stark, and you knew this kid in the back of your car was working for Tony Stark, and this was real life, you would KILL THE KID!! bro if he wouldve killed peter it would've been so obvious that he did it. he was in the car with him, even his daughter knew that. if peter died, even if they didn't arrest the villain, there would still be some sort of investigation which would put his entire plan at a risk. moreover he loves his daughter and she clearly knew that peter was with him in the car and if he suddenly died she would definitely become suspicious of her father. it makes 0 sense to kill him there
