And as Dimentio’s goal is to get the heroes to use up the Pure Hearts on Count Bleck, it makes sense why he saved Peach. He needed all the heroes together.

They mention all his cloths like his hat shirt, gloves and overalls. Fracktail even mentions Mario having the number of bumps on his mustache as a level 5 mustache. The only similarities are Mario and Red only wearing a red hat/shirt and blue overalls/pants and have mustaches. That's it. I don't even think Red has gloves. He's only there to keep people from passing like his brother Green. The joke is that Red and Green look like Mario and Luigi.
