Anyway - Although it may 'APPEAR' you are making tons of money, don't forget it's your in-depth diagnosis (time) of all problems that get these rides done PROPERLY. Most people or garages would have changed the trans for starters and still had the problem. You're a good hard working man at your craft and always offer more! You can do the idle relearn at home on these, here's the process (I just did it on mine) Start and idle the engine in PARK for 3 minutes. With a scan tool, monitor desired and actual RPM. The ECM will start to learn the new idle cells and Desired RPM should start to decrease. Ignition OFF for 60 seconds. Start and idle the engine in PARK for 3 minutes. After the 3 minute run time the engine should be idling normal. MAY have to perform drive cycle at reasonable speeds (44mph) with several accelerations and decelerations/extended idles

I just bought a 07 Pontiac G5 & its the same exact car but, in a 2 door coupe. Since there is a difference in the fuse box in older models, & since yours is also a 07, I was wondering if you could look inside your underhood fuse box & tell me the numbers on a specific relay please? On the bottom of that fuse box there is 3 relays. The middle relay. Above that, there is a bolt, then a yellow 20 amp relay, then the RELAY ABOVE THAT 20 AMP FUSE???? SO, FROM THE BOTTOM MIDDLE RELAY, the next relay above that? What are the numbers on that relay? In my G5, its a 5 pin socket where as, COOL FAN-1, & COOL FAN-2 both are 4 pin sockets. The relay that I am missing, (the bottom middle relay, go up to the next relay directly above that) is the "COOL FAN" RELAY!!! I BELEIVE these cars utilize a 3 relay set up to operate the cooling fan & all 3 must be working properly for the single cooling fan to operate! I do know that the top left pin in that ("cool fan") relay socket, If you ground that pin, the fan turns on! So, I ran a wire from that pin to a toggle switch, & out to a ground under my dash to make my fan work! But, I would like my fan to operate properly without human input! Thank you!
@deadfox033 жыл бұрын
@@d.j.9961 I don't have anything in that slot. I have the Omron 5510-0329 relays in the bottom 3 positions, then the yellow bolt, then a 15 amp fuse. Above that there's a spot for a 5 pin relay but there's nothing there. Sorry. The ones nearby are 5510-0329, 5510-0328, and there are a couple of 5510-0330 relays up above that. I will snap a picture and link it in a moment.

@d.j.99613 жыл бұрын
@@deadfox03 Thank you! See, that is exactly how my fuse box looks as well! There is a 5 pin, EMPTY spot in the spot marked "cool fan" then, there is cool fan 1 & 2..equalling 3 locations for a single cooling fan. In the few months that I have owned this G5, The fan has Never come on & with summer upon us, I am worrying & wondering if I need a relay in that location? I have seen others with a 4 pin, 2752 relay (13502752) in that location. I don't want to fry anything but, Can't help but wonder if the car requires that relay to be in place for the fan to operate low & high speed? My a/c does not operate so, I cannot test it that way. I do know that If I ground the top left pin in that missing relays location, the fan comes on so, I ran a simple 2 wire toggle switch from that pin, then ground the wire comming off the toggle switch. DOES YOUR COOLING FAN CYCLE PROPERLY? DO YOU KNOW AT WHAT TEMPERATURES DOES YOUR FAN TURN ON & OFF? THANK YOU!

Wish I knew about the sway bar bushings when I had my '08. Those ARE really simple to change. Fuel filter too. Dang it this video makes me want another Cobalt again. I miss that black sedan I had, took it to 250K, timing chain broke, which is sad because the previous owner said they changed a chain on it but it turns out that was just for the water pump, I guess they have two chains in them. If they had been more honest (or savvy) I'd probably still be driving that thing. Other than the engine failing the only other issue I had with that car was a little rattle up front, bet the sway bar bushings were needed, because I had already bought struts and shocks and did brake work and did control arm bushings and tie rods and all that.

Hey weird beard,, D.j.here, I have some questions for you regarding the red Cobalt! I just purchased a 07 Pontiac G5 & I have Never seen the fan run! The ac line is damaged so, the ac does not work! So, I cannot turn on my ac to see if the fan comes on! I have tested the fan & provided power to it & its fine, the temp sensor is fine also, My car runs between 183°-190° usually but, when in city traffic or bumper to bumper traffic, I have seen 211° & luckily I was then able to get on the interstate & the car cooled down! IF YOU LOOK IN THE UNDERHOOD FUSE BOX, THE BOTTOM ROW OF 3 RELAYS, THE MIDDLE RELAY ON THE BOTTOM ROW, ABOVE THAT, IS A SCREW/BOLT,THEN, ABOVE THAT IS A YELLOW 20 AMP FUSE THEN, THERE IS A RELAY ABOVE THAT! THAT IS THE RELAY THAT I AM MISSING!!!! IT'S A 5 PIN SOCKET In my Pontiac G5, that is the "Cool fan" relay then there is cool fan 1, & cool fan 2 which are both relay 0329 SO, RELAY #(5510-0329) I AM MISSING THE RELAY MARKED "COOL FAN" I see in your video that you have a 2752 relay in that spot & many other spots however, I also see that your missing a relay & I'm my car, I believe its the cool fan 2 location of which your Cobalt is missing. I would really like to know if the cooling fan works in that cobalt? Is it a single fan? Does high speed & low speed fan work in that car? Because, your missing the relay for cool fan 2 ( in my car, its a 5510-0329 relay. I am guessing that the relY box is the same because they (Cobalt & G5, hhr, ion, & Saturn vue) share every part. Does your fan work properly? The relay in the middle row, 2nd up from the bottom( bottom middle relay, above that is a bolt, then a 20 amp fuse, above that is the relay for "COOL FAN"... I REALLY HOPE YOUR ABLE TO ASSIST ME!!!! P.s. Tell Randy D.J. says wsup!!! SO, I PERSONALLY THINK THAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL A RELAY FOR THE COOL FAN 2 LOCATION...IF YOU LOOK AT THE UNDERHOOD FUSEBOX, LOOK AT THE BIG METAL + PIN IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT, ABOVE THAT IS 2 FUSES & ABOVE THOSE 2 IS A EMPTY SPOT, THATS FOR "COOL FAN 2"....

Came out Fantastic! Great job as always. Decided not to fix or replace the rear bumper?

Going to try to get away with it on this one. If it doesn’t sell I’ll go ahead and fix it. I’m hoping the shiny paint will distract the buyer from the bumper issue lol.

@@weirdbeard8898 LOL Nice! It's worth the try. Just need to get lucky and find the guy that is willing to overlook it.

Ive had many of these cobalts and there is a manual relearn process you can complete.

I tried a few things I seen on KZbin but I couldn’t get anything to work.

@@weirdbeard8898 ive had to do the sequence multiple times to get it to work. Ive been buying cheap cobalts that have burnt valves and doing a valve job on them.

What Meguiar product would you use for removing burnt-in white:ish handprints from a black car?

Beautiful color. That cobalt will sell quick. I really like your videos. If I still lived in Oklahoma I would buy a car from you.

If you can find the factory ground that is failing you should fix that. At minimum, run a heavy wire for ground because, apparently, everything is getting ground through that one wire.

hey thinking about buying a 2010 chevy cobalt (4 door) 5 speed manual 100,280 miles on in, runs and drives good, body is in great condition, interior is good, mostly clean, buying for $2900 is that worth it? the clutch works fine, but im kinda worried it could go out soon. (not for any specific reason, but just because I'm paranoid) is this worth the price?
