I have an EST 270-SPO and whenever I install it on my demo board, I have it two inches away from a fire alarm N/A up above - I had to remove my Wheelock AS from the mounting bracket so I can reset the 270-SPO

An L shaped screw driver could solve the stopper problem but even then you have an issue with having to make sure the screw driver isn’t angled and having to remove the screwdriver and put it back in for every turn made.

I’m getting a 270 in about a month, with that same screw, now, I’m from Canada, but the one I’m getting is a USA one…. Got any specific recommendations for opening it? Do I use a lot of strength, do I pull it down? Do I super fast push it out?

I can safely say the stopper and the 270spo combo is a nighmare. How do I know? I’ve had to reset one in a stopper 3. It was a hassle to do so. I even got it on tape so you can see (if you want). Honestly the 278-b was a LOT better designed and very much more versatile than its 270spo counterparts (siga included). Overall EST has a reputation for being cheap and less effective than even honeywell/wheelock appliances since GE sold them out to Carrier HVAC. Simplex is honestly where its at. Less false alarms, much more reliability and life out of their panels (there are still panels from the 70s still working in some buildings), and really has been a pioneer in computerized systems lately (with literall addressable notification and self testing appliances that meet NFPA 72 code).
