I definitely agree that TotK and BoW feel too similar to one another in the story, as well as the weapon durability - like, I'm totally down for breakable weapons, but just extend the time til they break a *little* further. Going to the Roktorok's is just a pain, especially when that almost destroyed weapon sits in your inventory forever until you finally make it to Eldin to repair it. I'm also disappointed by the lack of depth in Ganondorf's Army - it seems like Hyrule's history and story are SO in depth and Ganondorf just has these monsters. I love Tears of the Kingdom and I definitely agree with most of your points here. I've always loved that Link doesn't speak, though. It really gives me the opportunity to create my own narrative as the player and I enjoy that.

Just to let you know, the purified versions of weapons that you get from the depths have much better durability than the regular ones

I wish they did add more voice acting, for after a while the "Ooohs" and "ahh's" Get quite annoying. such as when im trying to sell items or just get a quest done. the weapons for me however aren't as big of an issue, for me i just go to eldin when one of my weapons is low on durability and throw it at an rock octorock to restore it fully like how you were able to do it in Botw, the loading times however for me are horrendous, it can take up to 30 seconds for me to teloport somewhere which sucks, I also miss the old dungeons that each had their own gimmick and concept, such as the inside of a tree to a pirate ship, I do admit that I wish Totk had that, however I like the freedom that the dungeons in Totk provide, in which you have more wiggle room the solve the puzzles and explore it in whatever order you want. overall I think the game is really good, but then again even good games have issues sometimes.

to this day I don't mind Link not getting a voice. I think the hype around it is so massive that if his voice is not what people imagine people will be highly disappointed and will start hating the game. Unless in the future they come out with an option of mute or speaking (which I highly doubt) Link.

Every game they come out with is full of problems and people constantly overlook all of it, I doubt him having even a mediocre voice would stop anybody from still being on their knees waiting for another zelda game

Rock Octoroks can repair & give modifiers to equipment in this game. The octorok can do it only once per its life. (Kill it after using it once and wait for a blood moon.) It is a change from the rusty weapon upgrades, but I like how you can get a decent weapon and keep it.

Link doesn't talk because he is the player. When link is asked a question it is your mental response that makes it special. Him being silent is probably the best thing they have kept in the series. You bond with your character, and immerse into the game deeper than you would with a vocal character

I don't bond with him and I think that's an outdated response that may have worked in 1998 but not 25 years later when the games are full of interactions and cut scenes with voice acting

Yeah, you’re right, but I still don’t get why. He clearly talks to everyone in the game except to us. It’s just wierd, all we get is yelling when he attacks or making noises when he loses his balance or jumping or whatever. It’s clearly intentional, but I just don’t get why. Link is mute, has always been mute, and probably always will be... because he is supposed to be our 'Link' to the game. By not giving him dialogue, we fill in the gaps with our own imagination and can identify AS Link more, instead of playing as a character named Link.

I see what you mean although I can’t help but think of characters like Kratos and think about what could be. There are many series that do this, particularly the Soulsborne games, but that’s more because the player creates their character. You’re probably right, but I’d still be interested in giving Link a voice! Thanks for watching and commenting!
