This is a really nice piece, FWSeba. I started playing Cyberpunk about 2 months ago, not knowing much about it, with the exception of a crash landing launch nearly 4 years ago. I prepared myself for the worst and was absolutely shocked and mesmerized by how incredible it was. I've played other open world games before like Fallout 4, but nothing to this level of artistry. It's so immersive, at times I forget I'm playing a game. I can't believe I've already burned nearly 500 hours playing it.. I still need to complete the remaining endings for Phantom Liberty (I sent So Mi to the moon on my first try) and knocked out 3 of 5 endings for the base game. This is definitely on my top 5 games list. It is simply amazing. Such a shame launch was disastrous. But I'm glad CDPR made it work so much better now.

The game to me is the acknowledgement that like V, you are going to die. Not six months from now by magic tech in your head but someday. So, what do you do with that time. What legacy do you leave behind when your time comes? Is a long life better than a shorter meaningful one? In the Star/Pan Am romance ending even if Pan Am and V can't get a cure for V, there's a very good chance V will leave behind a legacy in the form of child, the ultimate refutement to the inevitability of death. There's no good or bad endings because there is no ending. Your part in the story may be over but the story goes on. Just make sure your part in the story is worth remembering.

Unpopular opinion: I find the suicide ending to be the most fitting (even if the circumstances are a bit weird. Better would be an attack on Arasaka that ends fatally on purpose, as an example a bomb attack on Arasaka Tower *cough* Johnny *cough*). This would close the circle with Johnny and fulfill Jackie's wish that both would be celebrated as great legends in the afterlife. The “good” ending is just not V, not Johnny and not Night City.
@FWSeba8 ай бұрын
I never really looked at that one, but I see your point. After all, I think CP77 is, in essence, about V dying.
@ravendelacour19178 ай бұрын
My opinion is that my life as V was precious enough to me that if anyone wanted it, they have to come and try to take it. I'm not going to just give it to them for asking.

Personally I think Don't fear the reaper is probably the most suitable ending. - throughout the game Johnny is the only one with you through everything - if not for Johnny's Engram we would probably be dead the moment Dex shoots us. - At this point in the game Johnny is technically the owner of the body but still let's V decide his fate and is fine with any decision you make. - Panam ending gets Saul and 2 others killed, Rogue ending gets her killed, but looking back at how we solo'd 90% of the game with just Johnny it's unlikely for us to rely on them since we know how it will end. - Even though I like takemura he's always been on a leash by arasaka and you'll probably end up being a corporate sellout. He's an honorable man but puts his honor in the wrong place. -I really dislike the DLC ending not from a gameplay pov but how it leaves us to feel. So mi is still a slave to NUSA, We aren't a NC legend ,can't even die as one anymore, most our friends and lovers moved on, Johnny gone and we can't even live a life how we wanted to -suicide is very unlikely with how desperate we r throughout the game to find a cure and Johnny's constant need to get revenge on arasaka. We'd probably choose to die in a "blaze of glory" And storm arasaka tower alone. Get alt in or die while doing the most damage to arasaka. -Giving the body to Johnny after this would also make sense as you'd only have 6 months to live and sending him away with alt seems selfish considering how much we mean to him at the end. Remember it's technically his body after we died once. He brought us back all be it unknowingly, by the engram. - As we progressed in the story I grew to respect and trust Johnny a lot and he became the only one in the game I'd ask to die with me.. 10/10 game with a bittersweet ending

-So Mi doesnt deserved to be hang over to the NUSA, but she aint goes to the moon neither. I know from the beginning it was all a joke, even tho the cure is real, but her intention was never helping V. -So Mi is corrupted and ruined, true. But it kinda her fault, part of it. Satisfied her death wish is the most noble decision no doubt, as seeing her finally accepting to face with the consequences of her past choices. -Reed is loyalty, blindly. He doesnt deserved to be killed, not because we want to save a pitiful liar. -King of the cups all the way - best ending, and most fitting to a cyberpunk fantasy. Talking about King of Cups, the designer is honestly brilliant to named it like that, as the choices we make fit perfectly with the tarot card (sensible - calm - diplomatic - thoughtful - generous). Same with the other 3 cards.

I saw the new ending as female V, and while Judy is happy if you play it as Male V, if you play as Female V, it seems the opposite as Judy compares her wife to V and asks V please not to ruin what she has as if she's not entirely over V, in a way it feels like Judy settled in hopes to never get hurt again.

Haven't played Phantom Liberty as I want to first upgrade my GPU to experience Cyberpunk in all it's glory, but I think that the whole theme of Cyberpunk is the complete opposite of "Everything is futile" or some other form of nihilism. You might not be able to change the world, but if you care enough, you can change a lot of peoples lives for better or worse and in the isolated world of Cyberpunk where everyone is out to fend for themselves, these connections and these people are what truly matter and is the only thing truly worth fighting for. Basically you find the value of human beings in the world that increasingly devalues said beings. Although, that's just one way to play the game ... You can totally play the story in a way where your V puts his own survival above all else and completely ignores everyone around him.

I played through every single ending, both main game and Phantom Liberty. Back when I played it for the first time, I chose the Aldecaldos ending as “the best”. Live for 6 months, but with people who cares. The next after was the Don’t Fear The Reaper going solo. The worst ending was going with Arasaka. Then I got Phantom Liberty, and none of the endings are “good”. They’re tragic in different ways. -SoMi getting experimented on the moon is just as bad as giving her to Meyers. -She tricked us, lied to us, but we still sympathize as we’re in the same bad situation. -And the only freedom she’ll ever have would be outside of both mister Blue Eyes and Rosalind Meyers, which gives only one solution. When you comfort her in her apartment, then asks what will happen, her future sounded terrifying. Getting used and abused to breach the Black Wall, until the last shreds of her humanity evaporates. No, she’s off better dead than a chained slave for eternity.

In the end, futility hounds our every step. It is our first friend and our final enemy and yet we choose to carry on in spite of it - what we do, what we're willing to live with, and what we're willing to die for. Death is certain. What matters is who do we die as?

Great video! I've been a gamer for over 40 years and it's the first time that a game ending has made me genuinely sad. I'm talking about the one where you give up Songbird to Reed and go to Langley to get treated. CP was already my favorite all time game but PL took it to a whole new level. This game is just perfect. Great gameplay and even better story. Can't wait for the sequel! Btw, just started my 5th playthrough.
