Why aren't there any comments on how good this video is? Web designers and front-end developers need to start using this stuff , instead of the same old boring, cloned, bloated-bootstrap bollocks we see everywhere.

I agree with you. But as long as `height: 54px` still pays the bills, the majority of developers won't care.

The Intrinsic Web. So glad I came out of retirement to learn all this amazing stuff. Brilliant presentation. It's not often someone sees the future coming and says look, there it is, get ready.

Not too many people have the ability to foresee the future as Jen does. She has such a big context and understanding of the area. Glad to be in the Intrinsic Web era

I love the idea that web design is completed in the browser. It was an eye opening moment for me.

This is a good evolution of thought from a design perspective. I used CSS, JavaScript (Livescript), in mid to late 90's to achieve a lot of what is talked about and some methods in the 2000's was used much earlier. If you ever had the chance to see DepecheMode.com during the 90's was eye opening on what was feasible. Still a great video.

Very good summary of all i guess. I'm new learning webdesign right know, next month it will be responsive webdesign. It will be intresting if there will be the old system or flex and grid will be intruduced or just this media querry that i still have looked so far... becouse flex i have found on my own and i'm trying it right now. Grid seems to complex at the moment by i have it in mind for the future.

Jen Simmons Labs has been hacked. Being locked by security software. Presentation is great. From the Geo-Cities days to the present. Comprehensive and encouraging.

13:49 - Hard disagree on the FLASH "not a good idea at all". Flash/AS3 was not restricted to a frame, full screen flash sites were way ahead of their time in terms of design and interaction compared to the dark ages that followed. It could talk to the surrounding HTML and it was already responsive and vector based. "Web stuff" is whatever we want it to be...hardcore bias there.

I strated in the 90ies with pure txt/html, Flash/AS3 was the height of design/interaction that yet is still unreached with modern approaches. Instead it got extremely convoluted and splintered, tons of new job descriptions, a daily cahanging landscape, horrendous to keep up with. Not fun anymore.
