10:26 I'd like to point out that it's a picture of Alastor and Vox that Vox presumably ripped apart. It's interesting because that implies how much their relationship has changed over the years. We can further support this by suggesting that they were at least acquaintances because why would Vox ask a random demon to join the V's even if they're strong? Besides I think Alastors distain for modern technology stems further than just "Oh Im from the 1930s I prefer the technology from my time." Can't wait to see more of Vox and Alastor in season 2!

Wow you are right, there is Vox on the edge of the tear! He also seems to have a more outdated screen-face here. Together with Alastors old design this could really imply the "Back in the day their relationship was different" kind of thing. Thinking about it, maybe previously Alastor was more like a role model for Vox in the beginning? When Vox manifested in Hell Alastor was likely already powerful. And both likely bonded over the "Hey we are both media hosts" theme. But while Vox updated himself with the time (Black&White TV, to tube television, to LCD Screen etc), Alastor would hold on to his old fashioned medium. Likely Vox got cocky and was like "Hey since we are old pals you could join my team or whatever", which led to Alastor showing him that he is still powerful enough by himself (hence the fallout). I am really exited how this plays out

There's definitely a story to tell there and I can't wait to hear it! Another reason Alastor dislikes modern media is that Vox is constantly using it to spy on everyone, and Alastor clearly sees straight through the screens to Vox himself on several occasions.

Anyway, since neither of you brought it up, I'd like to add that Alastor called him "old pal" at the end of Episode 2 "Radio Killed the Video Star", suggesting they may have even been besties at one point. Here's my theory of how they drifted apart and instead became rivals: Alastor and Vox were once best friends, bonding over their commonality of being nobodies in Hell when they once were known as stars during their lives. At first, they started climbing up the ranks by working together to gain power. Eventually, Alastor accrued more power than Vox by using his deal-making talents to own more and more souls, while Vox just stayed on the sidelines tricking sinners into following him, instead of gaining ownership of their souls by force. This ultimately led to a power struggle, with Alastor becoming stronger than Vox. Alastor wanted to show off the new abilities he gained from the many souls he "bought" by challenging Vox to a battle. After obviously beating Vox, Alastor became thirsty for more power and started taking down the many overlords to build a reputation for himself. Meanwhile, Vox met Valentino and Velvette, and together they formed a major corporation to gain more popularity and attention. Eventually, Vox had enough of hearing the tortured screams of overlords Alastor broadcasted across Hell and, assuming his corporation made him strong enough for a rematch with Alastor, decided to put an end to it. First, he tried to reason with Alastor, inviting him to join the V's and together they could rule Hell like a family (or something like that). But Alastor refused to work with the two newbies (Valentino and Velvette) and would have only agreed to join Vox if he dumped them. Refusing to lose everything he had worked hard to build, Vox challenged Alastor to a one-on-one duel to determine who the stronger overlord was; Vox or Alastor. While Vox gained slightly more power than he had the last time they fought, Alastor became extremely more powerful since their last encounter, thanks to a "mystery deal" he made. So again, Vox lost and Alastor even felt a little guilty this time (probably not really though, seeing as how his personality is) for nearly murdering his former best friend. Alastor fled and went into exile to avoid facing his problem and having to apologize to Vox for getting out of hand. Meanwhile, Vox vowed to build up his strength to one day be able to defeat Alastor in battle because he thought the friend he once knew became corrupt with power, never being able to return to Vox's side; his hatred for the way his friend mistreated him slowly turned into a despising of Alastor entirely, completely forgetting the past they once had, for it only brought pain and suffering to Vox's mind. Instead, he continued to look forward to the future as he now viewed Alastor as the enemy. Keep in mind that this is all just pure speculation and somewhat of a headcanon/fanfic that I just came up with now.

Corrections or further explanations - First, that is a cello, not a bass. You can tell by the length of the neck. Cellos have shorter necks, and are also smaller than the bass is. Second, that is a Keyblade, not a magic wand. Two possible references - First, it (and I hope it's this one) is a reference to Kingdom Hearts. Or two, it's a reference to the cartoonishly large "keys to the city" you see all the time in TV shows. I'm leaning towards it being a Kingdom Hearts reference due to the fact it has a handle like a Keyblade does. That one Egg Boi is likely the same one from Episode 3, Frank. I'm only assuming this since he was the only one given a name, and he's the only one, that we know of, to still be alive. Be weird to kill off the only named Egg Boi if you were going to keep one around. Out For Love is not a call back to Whatever It Takes because Carmine and Vaggie are in the same scene. If it's meant to be a call back, it'd be because Carmine is telling Vaggie that her motivations have to based on love, not hate, like how Carmine's motivations in Whatever It Takes were based on her love for her daughters and Vaggie's love for Charlie. Alastor's part in the Finale song is not a reprise of Stayed Gone. It's its own thing. More Than Anything and Hell Is Forever were the only songs to get a reprise - Hell Is Forever was reprised in You Didn't know from Episode 6, and More Than Anything was reprised in More Than Anything (Reprise) - in case it wasn't obvious it was a reprise.

It've been confirmed by vivziepop actually, that Alastor is asexual (and aromantic) but since he lived and died in a time before those words were used, he doesn't know what they mean and that they apply to him.

Exactly. And that he might think that he's just never met the right one given that he doesn't know the terms. He isn't interested in men though and it's been confirmed he prefers the company of women over them. Hence his "Never going to happen" line to Angel making a porn with him is more a reference to that, rather than being asexual. He also doesn't seem sex-repulsed specifically, just very indifferent. Given that asexuality/aromantic has a spectrum in itself that ranges from low to no interest, he's also possibly not wrong, though likely Vivzie would stick with the "no interest" as that particular one gets the least representation if representation for ace/aro happens at all. Much like in BoJack Horseman with their two representations.

i believe the reason for alastor's shocked reaction to rosie's "I know you're an ace in the hole!" line is because back in the 1920s-1930s, terms like "asexual" weren't exactly common, if around at all. people in that time period didn't have labels like "straight" "gay" "bisexual" "asexual", so that all makes sense. also, i just love velvette's expressions when she's watching the fight with the other vees. in vox's "I AM SO HARD RIGHT NOW!" line, she shies away from him looking disturbed or disgusted. and when vox yells "THIS IS BETTER THAN SEX!", velvette peeks out from between his legs with an expression that is the closest to concerned we will ever see from her. i so hope to see more of the vees in season 2.

A couple things of note in terms of Lilith. There are a couple translations of the Bible that mention her once. But I don’t think it’s consistent enough to say she’s actually in the Bible, also the alphabet of Ben Sira is considered a satirical work. So I could be wrong, but I don’t think it can be viewed as actual religious text.

"Ace in a Hole" with a quick google, tends to mean from the definitions I found mean an advantage you have over someone... and as they were talking about charlie, I figured it was Alastor either playing dumb since charlie is there. but yeah I mean it could total be a case of a double meaning. because us humans do love that shit. yeah I know there was "you're" in this phrase, but I still feel it's likely in reference to charlie, and may have been a compliment that Rosie was giving the princess after some slight teasing.

Ace is often used as shorthand for asexual, like aro for aromantic. Card puns are often made in reference to it, such as using the different aces to refer to different parts of the spectrum. Rosie making an ace pun when explaining that she knows Alastor isn't actually dating Charlie is a pretty obvious reference to him being ace, presumably ace of spades. He can't be dating Charlie because he has no interest in sexual or romantic relationships.

I always thought that cannibal town was a actual town from the victorian age town that because of a drought or famine or something turned a large amount of the town to cannibalism, until it became part of the town's identity. and when they died from starvation or whatever, all of them (including the children) went to hell together (because they always stick together)

carmilla also wears her hair down during the fight with vaggie bc vaggie kept complaining how she couldn't fight with long hair (since it seems exterminators keep their hair short, as we see lute with a similar haircut to vaggie when she was an exterminator), which is actually kind of a sweet detail. also! it's worth mentioning that lucifer wasn't in the original finale battle because there was an agreement set by him that he wasn't to hurt angels as long as hellborn (such as charlie and imps) can't be hurt by angels. as soon as adam hurt charlie, this deal was broken and lucifer swoops in to help!

@@Featheryfaith7 first of all, i’m 24. secondly, friends with benefits is a sexual relationship because they are having SEX. i never said they are in a loving or romantic relationship. the word relationship doesn’t always mean “romantic or loving”. friendships are a form of relationship. relationship just means “the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected”. vox and val.. two people. friends with benefits.. connected. sex.. sexual. therefore they are in a sexual relationship. my opinion that vox may be more invested/may be romantically interested in val is just that, an opinion. i never said it was factual. do yourself a favor and develop critical comprehension skills before coming after a “kid” on the internet.

The bible councils that took place over the years to decide what makes it into the bible made sure to remove all passages that would upset the status quo. Also in the photo of Alastor on the table during the Vee’s part of “Final”, you can see that it is a ripped photo. On the very edge of the torn part it looks like it is Vox standing next to him. You can see the edge of his head/ monitor and just a it of his shoulder padding of his coat.

My theory for Sir Pentious is either: A. Heaven is the afterlife for Hell, to get there a demon has to die or B. If a sinner is redeemed they have to die to get to Heaven

The first one doesnt really make sense since so many demons die in the extermination each year. So the Angels would probably notice the demons spawning in Heaven again (also Most of them are Just genuinely Bad people that dont deserve to Go to Heaven). After all Charlie has to PROVE a Soul can be redeemed, even Sera doesnt/didnt know If it really is possible for a previous sinner to enter heaven

Remember folks, each episode has two songs in it each with rich music and choreograph (which is not easy to make not clunky in animation). So 16 songs in total. This season feels more like a show production than a cartoon so cluttering it with rushed song or episodes without songs would degrade and detract from the spectacular experience the team at A24 has brought us.
