Thanks for this video. Subscribed. I'm looking into getting a KOMODO. Coming from a Sony world, so I need lenses as well. Do you think it is better to get the EF 24-70 over the RF 24-70. I see you point about the speedbooster and ND filter adaptors. I just don't want to invest in the EF and be like I should have gotten the RF. Are you not a fan of the variable ND over the lens?

Thanks for the sub and for watching! To be honest, the RF lenses are so new, I haven't really used them much. But I know they have faster and better communication with the camera body for quicker autofocus, and also better optical performance because the lens will be closer to the image plane due to the RF Mount (less chromatic aberration, distortion, etc.). However, if you plan to use your new lenses with older cameras that have the EF Mount, it might be safer to buy the EF lenses, since they can be adapted to the RF mount, and of course you can use the speed booster with your Komodo. Obviously, RF is going to be the mount of the future for Canon, so buying RF lenses sounds like a pretty good way to go, unless you need the backwards compatibility that EF lenses offer. So both have their advantages, it really just depends on what you're looking for. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you, and thanks for watching! For the shots of me talking I used a Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens and for the shots from the film I used a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 art lens and a Rokinon 35mm T1.5 cine lens. All great and very affordable lenses!

Rent an Arri, buy a BMPCC 6K Pro and stay away from RED.

I agree, except for the last part. I think there are certain models of Red cameras that are worth renting on projects with a micro budget, like the short film shown in the video. Gave me a few extra features the BMPCC 6k lacks like the global shutter, and I personally prefer the Komodo's look. Plus the BMPCC's form factor is not ideal, so the Komodo was actually a necessary tool, as it allowed me to move much quicker on set. Obviously, this is just my personal opinion though, and I'm planning a review on the BMPCC 6K Pro soon, as I love that camera! Thank you for watching and for your comment! @@BoundlessEntertainmentFilms I have a 6k Pro and ordered the red for that reason, the form factor. Some of the stuff I'm filming is high up in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and saving space in my bag is why I bought it along with R3D, and RF mount.

Something other to think about is the RF mount - it allows you to adapt almost anything in terms of old glass. The BMPCC 6k is awesome, but the EF mount have some restrictions.
