The 808 plays an important part in the production of music all genres and to learn to handle it and its many wonders is a MUST in today's world of music production from simply layering for the feel of the 808 or maybe a BIG BOOM here and there to shaking the whole parking lot. Learning to sculpt the 808 is key.. #THANKS once more....

So why has "808" gone from describing a whole drum kit from the TR-808 drum machine, to only the kick and nothing else? When I hear or read "808" I think "808 kit," including the kick, snare, rimshot, closed hat, open hat, and cowbell. Maybe that's just me, I don't know.
@chrisdawson82525 жыл бұрын
I don't know exactly how or the history behind it. But for some reason it is common for trap and hip hop/urban or new school producers to call the bass or kick just "808" and not specify it as a kick from the original 808 kit.

Cut some of the low ends off the bass line to make it sit better

Sick Tempo I wouldn’t layer bass. If I had to, I’d cut the low end 100Hz and below from the tonal bass like a tb 303 bass and stack that on an 808.

@whitedecemberbeats5 жыл бұрын
If your 808 is a One Shot sample, try turning off loop points, make sure there its on resample as well. If You're using a vst for your 808, you'd have to tweak the 808 in the vst.
