Great video, Imogen; it was very informative. I have a question for Saachi: I know someone who got 94% in the Indian Standard Board in 12th but was rejected for the economics course, and grades were cited as the reason for the rejection since LSE had received applications from students who had gotten a higher percentage in 12th. What, in your opinion, would be a safe percentage to be considered for a place at LSE?

@ImogenWhite
@ImogenWhite 3 жыл бұрын
Saachi: I did take the UGAA. Since I am doing a quantitive course, the weightage was given more to maths in the exam (the exam is on Maths and English). The English section involves writing an essay and the maths section is okay but I found the last two questions super difficult. The maths exam is mainly on the A Level maths syllabus. If you contact LSE they will allow you to sit the exam at your school, given the current circumstances in the world. Normally you would sit the exam in London. Hope this helps! 😊

¿Could you make a video about the requirements for a doble degree in the LSE? I live in Bolivia, and my university has a contract (or something like that) with the LSE, so many Bolivian students may be able to get a double degree (in my case, in Economics). Hi, Yes when you apply through UCAS you can put down five different universities you want to study at. You need to make sure your grades meet the criteria for LSE firstly, but once they do, it's more about your personal statement than your grades!

My main concern is that you do not have further maths. Economics is so competitive at LSE and very mathematical that very few offers are made to candidates that do not offer FM. You should be doing FM (even at AS level) rather than Chemistry at A level to give yourself the best chance of an offer. Good luck.

@@ImogenWhite Thanks! Another Q: If I understood you in this video right; does Kings accept applicants continously, i.e. your chance of getting in is reducing over time? Whereas LSE will first look at the applications and accept people well into january? Thus meaning I have better time to apply? I’ve yet to apply to either and I’m getting nervous that my chances are slim because Im too late.

@@djmagzbtd Hi! I wouldn't worry too much, I know LSE certainly look at applicants once everyone has applied but the other thing to remember is that Kings have nearly 20,000 undergrads compared to about 5,000 at LSE so there are a lot more places there! I think (don't hold me to this!) Kings do look at applications as they come in but they also often take ages to give out offers after you've applied so it's not going to be a case of them running out of places!

Hi. I heard from your video previously that LSE waits till all applications are submitted to them before start reviewing them. But on the website it says they decide on a rolling basis. Is that the same thing? When is the best time to submit? Wish for your reply thanks for the videos

For the last two years, LSE has not given any offers out until February. They then give out offers on a rolling basis between February and May. Hope this helps.
