I'd like to add, really appreciate the info on the slick jigs. I've been using crappie tubes on my sliders with good success and now it's time to use them on the bottom as well.

First I am hearing of a crappie tube on the slider but it makes sense. I always lost fish hooking my slider on the ice one the way up when they are hooked on the bottom. Good luck out there! 🎣

Catching the slider on the ice is something we have to watch out for. But more importantly, I think we're onto something. I've been catching using tubes on the slider. You've been catching using tubes on the slick jig. I can't catch anything on a slick jig to save my life so always resorted to moving deeper into the mud and using a jigging rap. Maybe the answer is crappie tubes regardless of how you fish.

Give it a try. It’s been hammer time when I’ve done it. The magz salty tubes work great!

Great video! Jan 2021 was our first whitefish trip to Sugar Creek, goal was to catch one fish. Accomplished in 10 minutes with the help of whitefish anonymous and a slick jig. Been making trips since, mostly to Bayshore now. What I love about whitefishing, FAMILY…My daughter texted me about going up this weekend while she was on her way to try on wedding dresses!!! Priorities 😀

Regarding the use of sliders. We've had varying success. Some days they're all on sliders and some days they're all on the bottom. Sometimes it even changes hour by hour. We almost always do use sliders since this is what we've seen. That being said, the slider counts as an extra lure so if we're running 2 rods we'll have one with a slider and one without so we're not over the 3 line rule.

That’s great! I never had to worry about the 3 hook rule because I don’t have enough coordination to keep jigging two rods with the right cadence. Catch a big one! 🎣

Mid day I use sliders but mornings and evenings I don’t cause the fish seem more agressive in those times.

What size of the tubes are you using?
@captain_zach_fishing2 күн бұрын
1.5” and 2.25” tubes will work great. Depends on the size of jig

Stay safe but get away from the crowds and if you really want to lurn about the white fish yous a camera in 20 feet or so and that will teach you in real time how thay react and what thay like.i lurned from Andy stuth.hes the best...

Thanks for sharing. I had a camera for some time and it was allot of extra hassle to put it in the water, and would spook the fish. Cool if you can learn from someone else doing it though!
