Everything you Need to Know About Dump Pumps

I was told that there were dump pumps that don't require gravity feed. I've never heard of them, is there such a beast?

My truck has air operation my bed comes down way to fast what can I do to slow it down

First, try to remove the spool from the valve on the dump pump. Clean it and re-install it. Sometimes dirt can keep an oil pathway open enough allowing the oil to return too quickly when the box is lowered. If that doesn't work, check the air shift hoist valve in the cab to make sure the air pressure isn't still engaging the spool which would force the hoist to lower.

How do i choose the pump i need to replace the old absolete pump on dump truck

All you really need to know is whether it is direct-mount or remote-mount, and whether or not it is air-shifted. After that, speak to someone at your local Parts for Trucks or another heavy duty shop near you, and they will be able to set you up with the correct pump.
