Ice T and Veronica Fox ! ! ! I was a model in the 90's and did several TV commercials in my day. Models are paid to read or memorize a script, selling a product. There is no "truth in advertising". One does NOT have to use the product they sell. They can stand in front of a camera and say "I lost 80 pounds using XXX" or, "I saved $1500 using XXX". I'd like to see the person advertising, actually use the product. Many TV celebrities advertise a product such as "reverse mortgage', sleeping remedies, space saving retractable, hose, life insurance, car/home warranties, weight loss meals, but are NOT required to actually use the product. Yet, a well known celebrity advertising a product sends a message these products are endorsed and perform as described In many cases. The celebrity selling the product could care less. They want or need the exposure or money.

The BBB rating of an "F" does NOT surprise me. I called to get a quote for an extended car warranty for my Dodge Durango. I was told by the associate it cost $ 127 per month. I told him I would think about it he then lowered the cost to $102 per month. We talked further. I decided to think about and call back he lowered to $ 79 per month. I asked, "why didn't you offer me that in the beginning" ??? At $79 per month I may have purchased the extended warranty, but now I can't trust them and I hung up. What a SCAM ! ! !

Even if it was a dollar a month its not worth it. They will find any excuse to blame you for negligence and deny your claim. And best case scenario is that you will fight them to get like half your payments back that you wasted by paying per month anyway. and you have to sign something saying you wont pursue any more claims and release crapshield from any future liability. And youll still have a broken down car to get fixed out of your own pocket after all that. EFFFFFFFFFF THAT.

@@walter2695 I always read reviews on car warranties, home warranties, property management Co., Sears extended appliance warranties, and consult Consumer Reports. Although Consumer Reports is a good reference, I was disappointed when they highly rated the Maytag Neptune front load washer. I had 6 service calls in 4 years. It cost $712 in circuit board replacements, plus $75 for every home service call. The washer was junk after 10 years. Water pump and control dial went out. The entire bottom frame was rusted.

I had car shield. I believe the car shield is horrible because I had an engine failure and they had to come to the shop to check it out. I think they had a third-party adjuster and it was horrible. It took almost 60 days.!

OMG-----It takes only 2 days to assemble a complete vehicle on an assembly line. That's ridiculous. They must have been making each engine part by hand. Many car warranty companies claim they also cover car rental fees. I doubt if you were lucky enough to get them to pay for a rental car for 60 days. What does one do if that is your only mode of transportation, and it's in the shop for 60 days ???

Agree. Even Consumer Reports does not recommend extended warranties. In 3 years you may pay1/2 the replacement cost of the appliance. Extended Car and Home warranties are risky. In many cases car warranties will pay for labor but not for certain parts or may pay for parts but NOT the labor for what caused the problem. Use common sense, read "reviews", consult Consumer Reports, and Better Business Bureau ratings.

The owner of King Automotive is a good businessman. Rarely does this happen, when an auto shop steps up even though it wasn’t their fault. He attempted to repair the car twice with the transmission that the warranty company privided and STILL made sure the owner was compensated for her experience. Did he have to? No, but it’s all about integrity, and that is how you do business. Bravo!

Depends on the level of extended warranty you buy. I bought mine 9 years ago for $2.4k. It has covered a new engine, a catalytic converter, an AC actuator, and fuel sensor for about $300 in deductibles. Easily paid itself off over 2x. Not all extended warranties are the same, read before you sign.

These 3rd Party Warranties are as bogus as a $3 bill! I found d that out back in the 90s. My Wife (deceased😢) & I bought a Saturn in 1993. When it started having problems The Reps at Dimension told me that things like valve seats, piston rings, oil pumps and other things were not covered!

I recall a warranty situation that they paid for the defective parts and labor to install a new oil feed and oil pump on the turbo that went out but they would not pay to have the engine removed and reinstalled to have that replacement oil pump and feeder tube repair done. We found this out after they had dropped the engine to have the defective oil pump and turbo-oil-feed replaced. Even when you read the "fine print" they try to rip you off. Piece of💩💩

Why would anyone spend hundreds of dollars a month on an extended car warranty when they can install old, used and junkyard replacement parts. I would at least expect a "new" replacement part and a limited warranty to cover the replaced part.

If you buy a new car, always get the factory warranty. not the aftermarket warranty, the salesman will tell you its better, because he makes more money on it. Always get the factory extended warranty.

I was born may 9 1946 growing up honestly businesses were done mucho nicer honestly knew costumers by name you paint fair prices to get wok done properly these days mucho volks are basically only after your hard earned dinero for some shoddy work done several times said myself so I the truth done properly as I do scrap metal they are so pleased to see me when I go there several places I have never been turned down or if mucho rarely done why I can not say volks donot want to work properly more often I can not say but hearing often said too mucho work to do hard work it is not really yes time consuming at times if you want it badly enough who does not then either do it right or forget it it makes sick sad mucho volks donot enjoy their work doing it right as I do what I like is not stuck behind four walls same scenery always or depends at times doing it with amigos as said enough times we waste plenty of time some do watching others criticising judging them than our own lives doing for our selves Now will say if volks used their time mucho wisely then maybe they would nice off health wise please all you low lifers. I recall those same days when a handshake was all that was needed to seal a deal. Those days, sadly are long gone. I remember when gas was 23 cents a gallon, a McDonalds cheeseburger was 27 cents and a 1970 Chevelle Malibu, Cortez silver, with black vinyl top, fresh off the showroom floor was $2737.12. I also remember when people didn't block grocery store aisles, chit chatting on their cellphones. Wow ----those were the days ! ! ! Miss those days ! ! !

Sounds to me as if the King's mechanic didn't fix her car, but charged her warranty company for the bad service. I don't think this was a good instance to put down Car Shield. Maybe you should find another, better instance where they screwed the customer.

Many of these car/home warranty companies go in and out of business over a period of a few years then come back in business under a different name due to bad reviews, multiple Better Business Bureau complaints and bad ratings, or several lawsuits. In my opinion put some money aside for repairs------------------most are a scam.

I’m pretty sure they did attempt to fix her car. Speaking from first hand experience, I have been in this situation as a mechanic. Many many years ago, a woman brought me a 1996 Buick century with a bad transmission. She had an extended warranty through a third-party from her bank. The extended warranty sent me a total of three junkyard transmissions. None of them worked after haggling with them for many months, they ended up refunding her a partial payment. She eventually had us install a GM remanufactured transmission. The bill came out to $3500. At the time the car was worth maybe five $5k. I also ran into the situation on a Dodge ram pick up truck. The extended warranty sent me an entire junkyard rear axle, that was in worse mechanical condition than the one needing to be replaced! The owner ended up selling the truck, because the extended warranty would not cover a brand new rear differential, or to have his rebuilt.
