I am so excited for the scene when Kamish joins the fray. their teeth are so cool, can't wait to see them animated. also, the "Human Error" tease... so good. I can't say anything else without spoiling, but I really want to. there's so much meaning layered in it.... thank you for this little extra bit at the end. it is so very appreciated.

NGL This explanation pretty feels like 1:1 with what would happen in the real world. The only super scummy thing is the bidding. Its probably why the president and an associate were concerned that the construction company were buying up a slew of C-rank gates. It kind of means that the Alphabet companies in our world Amazon, Facebook (meta), Apple, Google, would monopolize gates on the front in back end. Large capital blowout which are just drops in the bucket. I'd think there would be one more caveat or two or even just one more condition to prevent both the Hunters Associate and the top guild from just jerking each other off and keeping everyone else from reaping the rewards.

I do like how well the anime introduced guilds in the show and to me, it was better done than in the manwha. It's interesting how in Solo Leveling guilds are like business, compared to fantasy guilds usually are more handling a bunch of mercenaries in a way that makes them overall productive members of society. I do like how different Hunters Guilds are compared to normal fantasy guilds. I do like how guilds are given lots of economic boons but in return, they are to respond to any emergency that they are called up for to deal with. I do like how on the manwha it goes into that owning a guild build is very valuable. Mainly because safest place to work and live is near guild buildings.

Little nit pick. Guild bid for gates is a thing in countries with more of a free market economy. Other countries with other political system and markets have other distribution by their respective hunter association. We know the best about it in S-Korea, Japan and the US as of the writing presenting it. But others would be China, who organize a bit differently.

In general I think the setting has a lot of details that are fleshed out and feel logical given the circumstances. But the way it's all presented, based on how characters act and how efficient the system is, leads to the "gates first appeared 10 years ago" thing. The timeline just doesn't fit what we see and what we're told. At least that's how it feels to me.

Not bad, though it does undersell and under-state the imortance and effect of guilds as there are a couple important details left out. Explaining about dungeon breaks and why dungeon have to be dealt with quickly would've been good. Also left out is the effect of guilds on the world stage with regards to nations and how the Association balances that somewhat. International poaching could've also been covered, if only in implications to avoid potentially teasing spoilers.

That means that important details like that are easier to lose in the shuffle. There's a lot going on in Solo Leveling. This is a very self-contained story where every detail ends up mattering. Ani's videos are quite well done and I know he cares about them. These small notes may make it easier to continue improving. It's not easy to keep track of everything while keeping content flowing, whether for subscribers or just for yourself.

In the manwha it some what explains it that healer mages are not common. So they do some work in hospitals but they are main used in dealing with duegons due to how few there are. Also with how dangerous duegons are, the hunters dealing with them need the healing ASAP.

There are actually many healers who do work in hospitals, the thing is they make many times more money raiding in dungeons, and low level healers can only heal small wounds. More serious wounds require high ranking hunters most countries only having a handful. So while yes the healers could do a lot of good in hospitals they not only make money from gates but also do a lot of good helping clear gates, as if a raid fails countless lives will be lost if a gate were to break. Of course you can still ask a high level healer to heal you outside of raids, though it most likely will come at a cost.

The problem comes down to power and just strength, Even an E rank hunter is equivalent to an olympic athlete if not more. E rank hunters are essentially peak normal human ability. Our mc himself does that because he has no choice, its a suicide mission, he nearly dies every single time. At best a normal person might be able to fight in an E rank gate. Magic guns while great in concept just aren't worth it. The monsters arent just tanks they are faster and can be intelligent, a magic gun would cost way too much to use and fuel, while only giving basic protection against weak monsters. At that point hiring smaller guilds or other hunters would be more reasonable.

I like that SL is giving some worldbuilding, but I was never a fan of these "gatcha games in irl" stories. If you ever get a horrible roll, ie: you become E or D rank, your life is technically ruined. We already seen that you can be a world class swordsman, just because you got a a rank higher novice with inferior stats, you're done. But we do have the Rich kid who got gears... But we don't get much info about this. So we got some theories that a low rank member with high tier loot could be on a same level, but in the end the impression is C rank hunter with high end loot < B rank "naked guy" So whatever you get awakened will dictate your role in society. The other issue is about dungeons vs human realm. I would understand if people would get powerful only in dungeons and in real life everyone would be "normal human", with the exception of dungeon brakes... And we would get into the criminal/justice stuff, aka even a D rank someone would become a criminal/bully or the opposite, emergency role or whatever job you get. Unless seeing high rank heroes flexing is anime only content... Because we got the "there are no witnesses in dungeons", so this implicates powers only triggered inside dungeons or IRL there's the all-seing-eye of the authority...
