Thanks a lot for your beautiful words! I'm definitely going to make more videos about the deck in the upcoming future

The list I was testing back when they announced the new cards was very similiar, I was relying on the draw 4 combo as well for game 1 because it's just perfect to have that line in a deck that would otherwise have to run many targets in the main deck, which would hurt going 2nd. Cards that can be considered: Icejade Cradle - it's a ROTA for Icejades that you don't already control or have in the GY. It can act as a 4th or even 5th Aegirine expecially when drawing 4. Minairuka - level 4 WATER extender that also has an use going 2nd. A deck like this can also go very well above 40 cards, I think the maximum number of cards a deck can play before becoming a pile-deck is 45 (that's basically an extra hand to cycle the whole deck). I usually prefer 44 and you can reach 18 non-engine like handtraps by doing that which is insane, without hurting the consistency of the deck that much. You can also go for 15 non-engine and play 3 desires which works even better in a deck with more than 40 cards. Another thing that should be looked into is the amount of playsets we're running, they make our deck consistent but our hands are gonna be inherently weaker if we draw too many HOPT duplicates. Normal summons also kinda conflict with each other with this in mind so it's going to be very interesting. Stuff like this is what makes YGO great imho, the deck building part is incredibly interesting and finding the perfect list for what you're trying to achieve with your deck is very satisfying. Too bad it almost never translates very well in the actual gameplay scenarios where we have pretty much no control over what the game offers us through our first 5 cards in the hand.

I wouldn't add Cradle with only Aegirin as a target to avoid the redundancy that you mention. I will look deeper into the rest of the Icejade archetype to see if there's something viable, but especially with Desires I'll keep the engine requirements at minimum. Even after side deck I will probably add only Warlock since it's the most efficient and accessible floodgate, but ending with Anti Spell + Dweller + ht's and Toad/Lancea or whatever monster we're able to add, it's already pretty good! This deck has many options to explore, I'm only worried about the going 2nd and I don't want it to be just a "draw 3 ht's or you're dead", so it might end up to be played as an engine for a consistent Runick deck, assuming they become valuable in a further format. But I genuinelly believe that people are oversleeping on it, the consistency is on point and the power level is promising!

And I completely agree about the great feeling that follows the creativity aspect of the game, especially when you approach it with a competitive mentality

Great video Moy, I've been playing this deck since the announcement of the support. Its true that this deck needs to improve its going second, so I decide to run board breakers like evenly matched, ultimate slayer and super poly, thus because in your extra deck you have plenty of room to use slayer and since its a control deck you need to clean the board to start oppressing your opponent. Keep up the good work!
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for your words! I don’t think board breakers fit well with the deck, cause at that point our combos going 1st will be way worse, since the Croco draws won’t be able to make the opening play stronger. I’d rather rely on a big number of ht’s, at least until SE remains the deck to beat!

However, DRNM seems insane in the deck, since it will shut down most of the opp board and we could then proceed to clear the field and setup some floodgates for his turn

Great Video! I run crossout designator maindecked so I can't use desires unfortunately. I could side crossout and main desires and side them out when needed. Another problem with desires is that I main raiho and warlock and I don't really want to banish them. I might opt for ice jade cradle if i continue with no desires as another means to get to ran. I think the redundancy is fine as it can be discarded for ran or swap frog if needed.
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
I don't think handtraps are that big of a threat so I would avoid Crossout. Warlock is insane and of course if you're able to summon him in game 1 you are most likely going to win, but I would never play Rai-Oh in the main deck (and probably at all). Instead of Cradle, if there aren't other great Icejades, you could consider playing the "Ice Barrier" trap. You can pitch it with Revealer and it gives access to Aegirine, Georgius, Wayne and also potentially a Gameciel after side!
@JackLodge184 ай бұрын
@@bluemoy Thank you for your suggestions! Although I disagree on handtraps being a threat. One handtrap on any IB line is game ending (except special summon swap frog starter). Ash, veiler or imperm on revealer feels awful and the deck lacks extension, which is why i think the runick engine is probably better, but i dont want to use it.
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
@@JackLodge18 So you're playing Warlock, Rai-oh, the yellow monster and also another target for IB: how many bricks you want to include in your deck? 😂 You can genuinelly cut that line entirely, and believe me the deck is quite good into handtraps! You have Georgeus, Mirrorjade already in hand as a discard etc

@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s an option too, In the video I put it in the “sidedeck” alongside some other useful options. I didn’t include it straight away cause I don’t believe we need more consistency going 1st, but that’s definitely a tool to keep in mind, especially for the Gameciel access

If your opponent special summons a monster that has an on summon effect and you chain lancea to summon general raiho would they need to discard a card to resolve their monster's effect
@NaoiMikami4 ай бұрын
Isn't it better to just use mirror mage effect in the last combo tributing revealer instead of doing a coral anemone? Otherwise if they interrupt your anemone, you're gonna pass without anything on board.
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
Of course, in this case it was. I was just focusing on a guaranteed way to put Mage in gy, since in other combos where you don't have an extender in hand, if you just use mage tributing your only other monster on field and Mage gets stopped, you won't have a way to put it in gy (unless it was normal summoned, of course). But in this case you are 100% correct

@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
I don’t think that’s even possible, mostly cause you won’t have any meaningful play from the Extra deck. Just put the 3x of the engine cards, the Icejade and try to fulfill the rest with an other engine (maybe Spright?)

runick?
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
I have mentioned them a couple times towards the end of the video. I believe it’s great but doesn’t fit well with the format, since Runick cards aren’t great against SE going 2nd, and in that version you have probably only six slots for non engine. In a vacuum, tho, it’s pretty good, and probably the most reliable version
@darklaw76354 ай бұрын
With all due respect, this deck sucks. Seen too many money matches at this point
@bluemoy4 ай бұрын
I disagree! The power level is there, the boards with engine floodgates are incredibly powerful and, in the end, it can play a lot of non engines. You probably saw the Runick variant, wich I believe its great but simply doesn’t fit well against SE, cause it only plays 6 non engines and the Runick cards are generically not good going 2nd in the matchup. Even then, we are in a tier zero format, so there’s nothing wrong being inferior to that deck
