Had primary hyperparathyroidism for 4 years.Awful symptoms!! Finally found a surgeon who would operate & had successful op earlier this yr. 6 month post op bloods show calcium, vit d & magnesium all at normal levels & I have none of those previous symptoms now. But my thyroid levels & tsh levels are elevated & iron low now. I had more bloods today to see if they have gotten worse but not sure if its an endocrinologist I need to see now or more intensive bloods. I feel tired all the time, eat very little yet cannot even lose a pound weight even tho I am very active. All so frustrating to go from one disease, get cured & now something else isn't right.

Can hypothyroidism (not Hashimoto's) affect how the feet responds to heat? Ever since my second child, I can't go outside if it is over 75 degrees without my feet turning beet red, hot to the touch and seriously feels like they are burning from the inside out kinda like a fever. Very uncomfortable. I can take a warm shower though and they don't have the same over-reaction but more mild.

Burning feet could be thyroid but I’d also be thinking about neuropathy.

@@DrRichardHagmeyer Thank you for replying back Dr. Hagmeyer. It is very MUCH appreciated and surprising actually! No offense to you. I thought it was athlete's foot for a while and then possibly neuropathy. Can you experience it without being a diabetic or even showing any signs of insulin resistance on labs done by a functional medicine doctor? She didn't pan out... at all. Also, I've asked this question by several doctors but never could get a straight answer. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid after my 1st child but it still doesn't make any sense to me. I've always been underweight my entire life (other than pregnancy) and believe me, that is not from a lack of trying. Obviously, that doesn't correlate with symptoms of hypo, but hyper instead. I was checked for hyper and Hashimoto's obviously but no signs. I started thinking that some individuals, depending on their diet and lifestyle, might lean on their adrenals more than others and that might explain the lack-of-weight issue. However, my last 24-hr saliva cortisol test was normal so.... Any thoughts would be great?
