I cannot even believe that i stumbled upon your videos tonight. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism around 30 years ago and have been on Levothyroxine. Doctors have had difficult regulating my TSH levels. At one point it was over 20. Over the past few months it has gone from 0.051 to 6.7, while continuing adjusting med dosage. I have requested further testing and/referral to endocrinology, both of which they told me to wait until next TSH check. I finally had then approve further lab testing which will be done on August 18, 2023 and endocrinology cannot see me until December. When I listened I could not believe how the things you mentioned like nausea, hair loss, diarrhea, anxiety, trembling, cold intolerance, fatigue, sleep issues, brain fog, low heart rate, etc. I have a very strong family history of hypothyroidism, some having been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I am so tired of being ignored by doctors and am so ready to find the root cause of the fluctuations and feel "normal". A huge thank you for all of the information and hopefully getting to the root cause of my decades long issues.

I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto then 2 years later I was diagnosed with Graves then I took medicine for Graves and my primary care looked and my blood work and told me to get off everything that he feels the endocrinologist diagnosed me wrong. He said I was having a flare up of Hasimotos all along even though I took and uptake scan and my blood work should different. Now I am off all meds and my numbers are in normal range. The doctors do all the test. It has been one emotional roller coaster.

In 2012, after many years of battling my weight, I started jogging and weight started falling off my body. I thought it was because of the jogging, low carb diet. It just melted away. Then in 2017 it slowly started to creep up. I had problems for years, not being able to swallow, fatigue, sleeping long hours. Blood test, after blood test showed nothing. BUT, they only checked my TSH. Finally in 2019 I demanded my doctor take me seriously, and I think only due to my constant nagging, he sent me in for a thyroid ultra sound. I had two nodules on my thyroid, one was quite large. They put me on Methmazole, which tore apart my stomach, but brought my T-4 & T3 into "normal range". I've went from 155 to 175 and no matter what I do, I can not keep the weight off. I'm in a flare up now. Each flare up takes longer, and longer to get threw. Then when they stop, I slowly start to feel better and the weight melts back off. Until the next time. The nodules on my thyroid went from quite large to very small. It's all a hit and miss, vicious cycle. Thank you for your video. Oh I forgot to add, I've lost 75% of the hair on my body, when I'm in a flair up, the hair that is left on my head, falls out and it doesn't come back. I'm experiencing very dry itching skin as well. I'm getting older and I believe it's causing other issues as well.

I recently went to a new endocrinologist and my tsh was 4.5 with symptoms that you mentioned. Because of side effects from levothyroxine, I have not taken any meds for my thyroid for a long time. The new Dr said because my TSH is under 5 and my T3 and T4 were in the normal range I don't have to take anything anyway. And he also told me that hashimotos doesn't cause heart palpitations. I was recently diagnosed with mild sinus tachycardia that they feel is from aniexty and stress and nobody will believe me that it's from my thyroid or hormones. I've been trying to cut down and out gluten and carbs and other inflammatory foods and substances. Thank you for taking the time to read this I really appreciate it and your videos. Have a wonderful day. Oh I am also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. With the change in my diet my a1c is now 6.1. in November it was 6.4 or 6.5🙏🙌👏👏

Hello and thank you so much for the clarification. I was diagnosed with hashimotos this past March 2024. My thyroglobulin antibody level was 226and CRP 6.3. Doctors ran all sorts of tests to find out what my problem was and discovered this in the end. I currently have the symptoms of hypothyroidism. My doctor decided to put me on levothyroxine 50 mag even when my hormone levels were normal and I have been taking it for over 2 years now. I can't lose weight and suffer from joint pain and fatigue. My doctor doesn't want to give me immunosuppressant medication to eliminate the symptoms. Is it a good idea to prescribe immunosuppressants under these circumstances? Also, I really need to lose 40 pounds but it is just not happening.

I had an eye flair up and diagnosed with iritis. My eye dr said this only happens with a autoimmune disease. Went and got tested and everything was good. I've powered through symptoms assuming it was due to busy mom life and stomach issues related to dairy intolerance. For years I've had issues. Had a baby in March 2020(fun times) and nothing has been the same since. I again blame it on stress from a global pandemic and a new baby who still hates to sleep. A promotion with additional stress didn't help. Hair loss. Weight gain. Feeling yucky all the time. Now things are kind of settled and my body is crashing hard. I've gone into the dr for various issue over the last year. Tingling in my finger. Went to physical therapy for that. I thought I was having a heart attack. Ekg normal it was just stress. Went in a couple months ago because I was crying every day for no reason. Depression and gave me a pill. 3 weeks ago out of no where I broke out in full body hives. Dr did all kinds of test for allergies and tick born illness which all were normal. Blood work was scary. Showered low glucose. High wbc count. Low potassium. I finally put all my symptoms into a symptoms checker and hashimoto's was the first thing that popped up. I've been researching the heck out of it. Went back yesterday to have all the thyroid checks done and waiting on those results. But my symptoms go from hypo to hyper and I feel like I'm going nuts. Hopefully the tests have answers for me.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis can cause your thyroid to not make enough thyroid hormone. It is an autoimmune disease. It occurs when your body makes antibodies that attack the cells in your thyroid.

Hi Dr, I have experienced many of the symptoms you talked about. About ten years ago I had problems with digestion and constipation I seek medical attention which nothing that was prescribed helped. I watched what I ate and rralized wheat and white bread was a problem for me. I since replaced it with almond or coconut flour. Dr. I would like to know if hasimoto is reversible and if it is what steps can I take to illiminate symptons.
@DrRichardHagmeyer
@DrRichardHagmeyer 8 ай бұрын
Great question. Not realy “Reversible” but more remission. You can’t reverse autoimmune diseases because they are partly genetic, partly environmental. I see Dr use the term “reverse” all the time- it’s a poor choice of words. BUT with that said, there IS so much thst can be done to help stabilize your immune system and improve your health.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism decades ago and put on thyroid meds. No further tests have been run except for TSH and T4. For the last couple of years, I have been experiencing a multitude of symptoms that my doctor just brushed away or treated those symptoms with drugs. I just recently asked the doctor to test me for hashimotos, T3, reverse T3, Lupus, and celiac. I also just had a thyroidectomy on the right (which had a golf ball size nodule). As I recover from surgery and wait for my test results, I am trying to adjust my diet according to the research that I can find. This has been very confusing. Besides salt, what e!se do you recommend...non-dairy? Gluten-free? Paleo? Soy-free?

Glutenfree, dairy free, soy free, sugar free, non alcohol is the advice where I live and then do this via elimination provocation diet which means during 4 weeks do not take gluten, than test a little bit gluten be ware in what products beside bread, toast, crackers, cookies, pie it also is in some sort of soups, crouton, biscuits, spagethi, nacaroni etc etc saus....then part 2 for 4 weeks no diary then test it etc etc and the rest so you can feel in your belly, gut and energy what makes the difference. Good luck, Yvonne

I have been supplementing heavily with iodine as I listened to numerous experts who said 97% of people are deficient. I believe the iodine is helping me as my symptoms have lessened greatly. If our bodies need iodine and we're deficient, I don't see how it can be harmful. Plus, the research I've done does not support it hurting us. So again, do you have these articles?

I always crave salt gluten and sugar no matter how much I eat of anything else. My hormones are proven to be imbalanced and unaffected by metformin spironolactone and vitamins . My vitamin d is always low. I gain and lose weight rapidly in large amounts ranging 20-50 lbs in under 6 months with no lifestyle or diet changes. The side effects of autoimmune disorders are occurring frequently amongst my immediate family. But I have it the worst and I feel my doctors aren’t listening to me. Almost lupus but I never get face rashes but bad chest and stomach/leg rashes and eczema. That seems to come and go seasonally or due to irritation. I also have asthma that is only induced by exercise and I get very tired very quickly with mid exercise. I can’t breathe and I’m drenched in sweat doing yoga. I am overweight but I’m 215 5’8. And I know people way larger than me who don’t experience life the way I do. My immediate family has the accumulate: diabetes , neurodivergent disorders, pcos, dyslexia, very bad allergies (like grass, dust, cats, dogs) , cancer, strokes, amputations etc. but no autoimmune disease diagnosis Or family history. Be careful. Carnivore wipes out your gut microbiome. Eventually, it will create problems. Your gut is a big player in autoimmunity. Be careful!

DrRichardHagmeyer Oh, so let’s be miserable and eat vegetables and carbs that cause severe bloating? No thanks! Carnivore works for me and it’s been so helpful in eliminating my symptoms.

Many people people are fine 14+ years carnivore and some eating this way for 20 + years! You just don’t want people to know about carnivore because then they won’t need your supplements anymore.

I was diagnosed with hashimoto’s in 2021. I have been experiencing hyperthyroidism symptoms since 2019. I just recently start gaining weight and I still have hyperthyroidism symptoms. My labs still have been coming back high. I sweat a lot to the point it has been causing issues at work, and I feel nervous all the time for no reason. I have been to multiple endocrinologists they always want to play the wait and watch game. I feel as if I’m not being treated.
