PS3 was kind of crazy with remasters of PS2/6th gen games. - Jak & Daxter HD Trilogy - Ratchet & Clank HD Trilogy - Sly Cooper HD Trilogy - God Of War HD Collection - Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection - Metal Gear Solid HD Trilogy - Okami HD - Devil May Cry HD Trilogy - Hitman HD trilogy - Prince Of Persia Trilogy - Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD - Resident Evil Code Veronica HD - Resident Evil 4 HD - Yakuza 1 & 2 HD (only in Japan sadly) - Tomb Raider HD Trilogy - Kingdom Hearts ReMiX 1.5 & 2.5 - Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD - Zone of Enders HD Collection - Silent Hill HD Collection - Syberia Complete Collection - Beyond Good & Evil HD - Tekken Hybrid Plus, there was plenty more PS2 games thanks to PS2 Classics emulation on PS3 but those were all 480i.

@Lomborg but tlof is a completely different game from jak and Daxter , anyway no jak 4 has been confirmed, but you shouldn't lose hope, just think about Crash Bandicoot 4, if to release it Naughty dog took 22 years then they could do the same with Jak and Daxter.

@@AlexxxMYLSince2013 Rumor is that Sony has assembled a studio to work on dormant franchises. Jak and Daxter being one of them. And since Sony owns Naughty Dog they can have another studio make a Jak 4, they don't need Naughty Dog's approval. Also read rumors Sony wants another studio to make an Uncharted 5 and that Bluepoint is making a Jak and Daxter and Legacy of Kain remake. Again all rumors but it's all possible

Dude, ps3 is awesome for ps2 games. Iam playing ratchet now and I love it. There is sly 1 2 3 from ps2 and the fourth for the ps3, jak collection too. Iam so glad I got a ps3 slim and installed lots of exclusive games

I guess I'll stick with my PS2/PS3 copies. Despite lower resolution, I think I still prefer the PS2 versions. It's so weird Jak 3 on PS3 doesn't display the Day Star during gameplay.

7 months late but just dropping in to say that the reason you prefer it on PS2 is that the PS3 version has a considerable amount of input lag for whatever reason.

I've never had an issue with the lag ,the game runs smoothly jak 1 did not crash at all ,jak 2 only crashed twice in my duration of completing the entire game twice. The game doesn't look nearly as bad as this video makes it seem ,the video comes out like it's 420p when actually it's quite clear and clean ,not as good as the PS3 hd edition but yeah it's still pretty good

I have a question though, do you suppose that PS3 has more pros than PS5 and PS2 version? Because besides that the graphics are better on PS3 are the movements less limited on PS5 and the same or different than PS2? I haven't had them in a long time. I only watch KZbin videos of how other play nowadays... What do you think?

1:49 4:3 looks stretched out. I would recommend forcing true 4:3 aspect ratio if your TV has that function (like an LG TV, for example).

i cant believe im gonna say this but open goal port is the way to play the jak and daxter games. the only downside is that i like trophies but everything else is superb

just get and play jak and daxter on PCSX2 you save your money and its probably going to run a lot better then the ports on ps4 and ps5 i have jak and daxter and jak 2 on my PCSX2 they run pretty well but not perfect. i am still trying to find the best settings to run the game at a smooth frame rate

I have collect the trilogy of Jak and Daxter include Jak X combat Racing. Not count the fifth trash game but lucky I still have my PS2. I prefer to myself play on classic OG console and not an emulator

Hey do PS2 games have a higher resolution on the PS5? I know on PS4 the Jaks are only 896p, is the resolution really higher now?

@@hsblue I did more research and I'm actually more wrong than I thought Jak II and 3 render at 896p on PS4, but Jak I is 1024x448 and is upscaled to 1080p. VG Tech did a video showing Jak I. The reason 2 and 3 are 896p is cause unlike Jak I the sequels are had progressive scan modes.

Can someone just take the property from the brainlets at Naughty Dog and remake these games already? The original developers are all gone, the current staff clearly have no intention of reviving the series and are doing an AWFUL job of porting the games onto newer consoles, I'm ready for someone else to remake the stuff at this point. I wish I could make Jak 4, I haven't thought of a story, but I've got gameplay down, it's gonna have elements of Uncharted and Horizon, all while still being true to Jak 2 and 3.

ive been replaying Jack and Daxter on ps5 as it is one of my favourite games ever I specifically looked this video up to see if I was worse to control on ps 5 and laggy or if I was just looking at the ps2 version with rose tinted glasses and it was actually this bad on the original (I haven't had a ps2 for years so I haven't been able to replay that version) im glad to see that it wasn't just nostalgia and the game does not play as badly on ps2 as It did on ps5. honestly this port is horrendous and I would not have played it for as long as I did if I didn't have that connection to the game. and if this is someones first interaction with the game I doubt the ps5 version would create any new fans. its a real shame ps2 emulation should not run this poorly on current consoles.

Wew. If ps2 games run this bad on a PS5 I'd hate to see a PS5 game run on a PS5... Granted I know what the problem is (original hardware ran at different frame rates, latency, etc.) but of they have the nerve to charge $60 then they should get the frame rate issue fixed.

You don't have to be a speedrunner to realize that 8 direction movement is bad for a 3D platformer. lmao why defend it? I'm guessing you haven't played the original so you can't the tell the difference, but it is a noticeable step down.

Moving an analog stick around 360 degrees and having your character snap to 8 directions just feels janky. The original had full 360 degree control, so it's a completely reasonable complaint.
