I saw some soft top CJ's in the background of the video. Can you talk about those, and especially about how/when soft tops were standard, optional, etc.? Could a buyer order just a soft top? Or was that the option and the hard top was standard? Thanks!

I created my own CJ7.5 back in 1996. Was a 1984 CJ7 w/304ci and 5spd, added a scrambler hardtop including the metal that seperated the cab area from the back/bed. Also used a scrambler roll bar.Painted it plum crazy purple. Made a leather tonneau cover to cover the back. It served no purpose other than to look cool and turn a few heads. Driving it through a few northeast winters eventually killed it. Thanks for the CJ show Dennis👍😁

We still have my wife's 1985 Garnett Red CJ7. It came from the dealership with the Renegade striping similar to the one Dennis has. However it only has striping on the hood (no Renegade decals). Also no rocker panels but factory steps. The interior had the base looking black CJ seats but with orange piping on them. Upgraded steering wheel and a center console. Also rear seats. Dennis's Jeep is absolutely beautiful.

I learned how to drive in a '67 CJ5. Dad said that when I got old enough to be able to push in the clutch and see over the steering wheel that I could drive it. I used to hang from a tree limb trying to stretch myself.

In 1982 I ordered a CJ7, 5speed, 6 cyl, posi trac, cloth top, rear seat,stock wheels, light yellow, no other options. Drove that jeep for years finally lost it in a divorce. It was the best truck I have ever owned. Drove it in Illinois to Pensacola Fl, pulled boats, hunted almost everything you can imagine...if I remember correctly paid something like 11k for it... Im 73 now and wish everyday I had it back.

Hey Dennis, love the Coffee Walk! As an early Jeep enthusiasts, keep up the good work and saving these beauties. I mostly restored World War II Jeeps but have had several CJs and Wranglers. Currently have a show winning 1945 GPW that got a ground up restoration. Question for you: can you share what you may know about the Tuxedo Park Jeeps, I thought at one time they were also considered top of the line models in the CJ family. Possible you have a Tuxedo Park CJ in that massive Warehouse?? Look forward to any insights you can share on Tuxedo Park Jeeps ;) Congrats to you and your team for putting out the excellent videos every week.

What’s your thoughts on auto CJ vs stick?
@benmudn3 жыл бұрын
@@jasonverser7713 The auto is much easier and funner to drive IMO, but it does not have an overdrive so the hwy is not the greatest. Do you really need to go fast in a CJ... Ha Maybe I'm getting lazy, as I grew up on stick and an auto is so much more enjoyable to me now.

I have an 84 that is Ice Blue Metallic, chrome Laredo wheels, but the rest of the interior matches the Renegade trim. From the color code on the paint, this ice blue was only used in 1984-85 Best I can tell this jeep came with a soft top as there are snaps all the way around. Seats look original however they are shot and I am having to replace all of them. Noting is salvageable. Thank you for this video, it greatly helps.

I had a 1986 CJ7 Renegade in the Charcoal grey. Paid $11,847 for it brand new. Sadly all I have from those days is the window sticker and a signed copy of the Jeep Bible by Granville King. I took the window sticker last week into the Jeep dealership and said build me a JL like my CJ. Now I’ve got to wait at least ten weeks. If they still made CJ7s I’d buy one.
